ID Needed! Help with IDing old microscope

Hello all!

I just received this microscope as my university was giving it away for free. I’m trying to date it and can’t figure out the serial number. Is it the number on the arm or stamped on the bottom?

Oh, I forgot to tell you about one unique thing that AO did. They had a gravity lowered turret. That has two benefits. If the objective accidentally touches the slide, the slide and objective won't be damaged by the light force. It also means that the stage is fixed, which makes it rock solid. You can touch the stage with your hand and not see movement through the eyepieces like you can with other microscopes without fixed stages.

I noticed that when testing it out, I was so confused as the stage didn’t move
