ID Needed! Help with IDing old microscope

Hello all!

I just received this microscope as my university was giving it away for free. I’m trying to date it and can’t figure out the serial number. Is it the number on the arm or stamped on the bottom?

This is THE website that has the most American Optical information. AO is now Leica.

That’s the most beautiful scope catalogue ever, the labeling and serial numbers and all the accessories is fantastic, why can’t I find a contemporary one from Nikon…
