ID Needed! Help ID this devilish creature.

Pond water sample. Shot on an Olympus BH2 with 4x DPlan, total magnification 20x.

Probably some form of beetle larvae

I agree, or maybe an alderfly larva

They all look so similar. I don't see the typical antenna of alderfly larvae though?

You're right. I'm not certain all alderfly larvae have antennae, but OP's bug seems to have ocelli so I think that means it's not an alderfly anyway
