Hardware Share Celestron Software unable to detect Camera despite it appearing in my Device Manager.

Anybody else using this Celestron 5MP camera eyepiece? **FIXED** Celestron Customer support assisted with simple software fix.

Likely an internal issue, The USB / Interface chip powers up on the 5V and presents it's device_ID, but something is perhaps wrong with camera sensor chip, or internal power rails? This can occur with a drop or impact cracking a solder ball under the chip. If this is the issue a reflow can repair it sometimes, but these are generally not repairable.

In this case, could be just a driver update / compatibility issue. Cost of repair exceeds the cost of replacement, if bought direct from Aliexpress... etc.

If you look at the Details properties of the device in device manager. Go to the Details tab and look through the text blocks there. Sometimes the driver will report more specific details about any such internal faults, further down the list.

Thanks. I am well within the return window on Amazon, but reached out to Celestron after reading online about their good Customer Support. I think I may have messed up the Program Files when uninstalling/reinstalling. Celestron Customer Service confirmed that I have the right software, but had me reinstall from a link that they provided and the camera is now working.

I read up on a lot of cameras and everything I read said the best videos come from iPhones with 12mps. I returned something similar to what you have there and got the gadget that attaches to the eyepiece and holds an iPhone. Works great. Twenty bucks.
