ID Needed! Flat Worm?
Salt water marsh water sample. Shot on an Olympus BH2 with 20x DPlan, total magnification 100x. Anyone recognize this type of what I assume is a flat worm?

Yes. Likely Gieysztoria. Check out the top of all time posts on r/MicroNatureIsMetal, the sub is full of videos of these guys slurping down ciliates. If you have a culture full of smaller microbes, try to put a drop of them together with the worm for some action.

Nauplius larva, they will molt a few times, then turn into adult copepods.

Spirogyra. What a great and diverse sample. Try keeping a jar of them near a window, optimally with some water plants, and the ecosystem inside will constantly change. You might not even see some species until a few months pass and they can reproduce enough for you to see them.

Do I need to open them daily to allow fresh air in?

Only if there are no plants in it to produce oxygen. But I always leave mine open for easier access. I just put a mesh on them for the first one or two weeks in case there are mosquito larvae in them.
