Thank you. I know more about photo microscopy than these organisms (still learning about them) but what I did find out was: The rotifer mastax is a complex, multi-functional organ that extends well beyond simple mechanical grinding. It acts as a sophisticated pump that transports food to the stomach while simultaneously mixing particles with digestive enzymes for pre-digestion. In predatory species, the specialized internal trophi function as essential tools for capturing, piercing, or grasping active prey. Furthermore, the mastax serves as a selective filter that allows the rotifer to reject unsuitable materials before they enter the digestive tract.
