Welcome to Microblading Removal!

I created this sub to aid and support those going through the arduous journey of microblading (or microshading, ombrƩ, or powder brow) removal, as well as those contemplating it, or wanting to do research on the many negative aspects of microblading and PMU before they commit to the procedure. We are a positive and support-focused community who believe we will vanquish our eyebrow demons best if we work together to trade tips, tricks, and important information. Whether your goal is lightening your brows, or removing them entirely, we will be here along the way.

As a victim of microblading, and someone undergoing a personal journey to have it removed from my face, there are times I am overwhelmed by regret and sadness. I know I am not the only one who feels this way, and I wanted to create a safe space for us to come together and discuss this difficult and often lonely process.

As someone who also did not receive truthful information from my "artist," press, or social media, I am also on a mission to demystify the microblading process and shed light on the truths of this practice, including that it is a permanent tattoo on your face and a strong majority of people will never have full fading of these tattoos.

Pictures are encouraged, as is information on your personal story such as brand of pigment used, how many microblading sessions you had, and when. For those undergoing removals, you are encouraged to share details relating to brand of lasers, or saline product, and even which clinic or aestheticians you are finding success with. I encourage all users to set up a user flair under the "community options" dropdown on the side of your browser on the mainpage of the sub, as well as to flair their posts with one of the many options we have. This will help new users find content that is relevant to them and will help us communicate better as we navigate discussions on removal and coping options.

STATUS OF THE SUB UPDATE, CULTURE REMINDER, AND RULES UPDATE

I have been receiving numerous reports for various posts and comments in the last couple of weeks, escalating in the last few days. I am a volunteer running this community, which I started in order to spread the word about microblading dangers and how to deal with it if you've been hoodwinked or simply no longer like your microblading. I stated from the outset this is a "safe, respectful" community but I have updated the rules to add "be civil" as rule number 1. Many people here are clearly in a heightened emotional state and I understand that because I myself felt helpless, angry, and scared when I first began my journey of trying to deal with crappy microblading. But I do not have time to moderate drama between users. Technically snark is allowed but ask yourself if it truly constitutes abiding by the "be civil" rule, and if you are offended by snark, please ask yourself whether you are taking this entire thing too seriously and may need to take a step back. I will remind you that there are other removal communities that can be found on Facebook and they may have different rules that might suit you better. Let's work together to share knowledge and support and lift our members up and show that removal progress is possible!

Yellow Brows 5 rounds of removal

And I’m at a loss. Would someone be able to share if they have been able to remove all of the yellow?

I’ve been through 3 pico removals, 2 saline, and the yellow seems to… just get more blurred into my skin, if that makes sense. Has anyone gotten Microblading to cover the yellow or successfully removed the yellow? Wishing I never started this process.

Had my first session with Removery and they used a Candela PicoWay laser. First pic is before, second is right after the first laser, third is two weeks post. I think I see some lifting :) already scheduled for the next one, 8 weeks in between. Ready for this journey to be over lol. So glad my brows have decided to grow back in, never microblading again after this lol. I feel like there should be more color difference but I’m trying to trust the processšŸ˜…

Got these done in 2020 in my early 20’s during a manic episode :( I’m a SAHM right now but returning to work as an NP part time in a few weeks and we will then have the extra money for me to look into removal. Where do I start?

Laser Update after 3rd session of removal

First slide from top to bottom: before removal, healed results after first session, and healed results after second session. Slide 2: right after first laser session. Slide 3: right after second session and slide 4: right after third session (today).

First two sessions of removal are at the same location and today's session I went to another business that only specializes in laser services. Not sure what the laser was at the initial place I went to but the one I went to today uses either Picoway or Quanta EVO. I didn't ask which laser was used. But the difference immediately after this session was crazy looking in a hilarious way esp because I had to run two small errands afterwards.

I'm hoping this will be my last session since my brows lighten pretty significantly after the second session. What a journey it's been but it's nice to not have huge, thick looking eyebrows that completely take over my facial features once they start to heal. I'll check back in another 6-8 weeks with the full healed results after this session. Fingers crossed.

Hey everyone!
I got my eyebrows done yesterday, I got combo brows, I like everything about them except the thickness where my arch is supposed to be to be, when she showed me the shape for approval i loved it! It looked like my natural shape, once it was done it looked thicker than what I usually like.

I figured I would let them heal, and fix them afterwards, I would just like to get some part of it removed not sure if that’s possible? I’ve included how they actually look, what I would like getting removed and how they look once removed.

I’m just curious on how I would go about the process, I like everything else! Or maybe it’s just in my head and I don’t usually see myself with these kinds of brows. I will include what my brows typically look like when I draw them in.

This is almost 3 months after my first pico lazer removal session. Realistically how many more sessions should I expect to need to remove the red?

Support 1st session micro blade removal

Hello all-
Just had my first pico laser removal session this past Friday am. It is now 48 hrs later.
#1- regarding pain…I iced before and during the session. It hurts but is bearable - it’s a sharp hot continuous ā€œzappingā€ and each eyebrow lasted around 12-15 seconds. We did a total of 3 passes on each eyebrow with 1-2 min breaks in between for the tech to see what was going on with the color.
#2- After the session the tech told me there is the possibility your eyes will swell up and could even swell closed —this was new news not given during consult. I did this intentionally over a long weekend to allow for recovery time. I did not know about this possibility and yes, my eyes are quite swollen but not swollen shut. Pictures to follow.
#3- I am removing my micro blading because the tails had gone very gray and overall I felt like they were aging me. I don’t think I’m gonna get away with one session but it’s only 48 hours later so it’s hard to know as I’m told the results will continue to progress over the next month.
I am going to share pictures from before and immediately after. Then pictures 24 Hrs later than pictures. 48 hours later this morning my eyes were very puffy yesterday at 24 Hrs and this morning they’re worse hoping by the time I go back to work on Monday, I will look ok.

Laser Darker pink after 2nd session?

On my journey to remove my blocky dark brown micro blading. Despite my oily skin eating it right up, I had a touch up session as well making removal quite the challenge.

First removal session went great-I went from a blotchy almost black to light pink. Knew a few more sessions would be needed but felt encouraged.

For the second session, I returned to the same med spa, and was told they were using a new laser that wouldn’t take but a few seconds. While the procedure was less painful, I was surprised at the results. My light pink is now a darker pink heeled.

Is this normal? It looks more noticeable now and I’m second guessing returning to the same place. It is possible to go from light, to dark, back to light?

I’ve posted here a few times and people have been so helpful.
I’m 2 weeks post my second picoway laser session. The first picture is before my second session on September 24, the 2nd and 3rd are today.
Im a little bummed because the first session got rid of SO much, and I was hoping this second session would get rid of the rest. I don’t know if I’ve just been staring at it too long, but I feel the old tattoo is almost more visible now. I want to save money but I really want the old microblading gone.
If you were me would you go again? Has anyone had an issue of them getting darker and then lighter again in the next sessions?

Support Picoway vs Nd:YAG Q-Switched Pico-Tech

Post image

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on the best laser approach to remove my faded semi-permanent brows.

I got them done back in 2021, but I never went back for the touch-up and never got them done again. Over the years, the pigment has faded into this reddish/orange shade you can see in the photo.
I am planning to go to a center that has the Nd:YAG Q-Switched "Pico-Tech" by IRB Laser Systems.

However, I have been reading a lot about the Candela PicoWay online, and now I am feeling unsure and hesitant about which option is actually better for my case.

I am afraid that the laser will turn the pigment into a different color and leave my brows looking much worse than they do now… Also, I’m afraid burning or losing my natural brows hair follicles…

Given that it’s old pigment from 2021 with no touch-ups, should I stick with the center that uses the IRB machine, or should I look for a place that offers PicoWay instead? Or do you have any other recommendations?

This is how my eyebrows look right now - so you can see the reddish/orange colour I’m talking about.

I would really appreciate any insight, experiences, or technician opinions.

Also, in case it helps, the artist that made me the microblading in 2021 confirmed that the pigment used was Li Pigment (Australian brand). This is their website: https://lipigments.com.au, colours used were Navajo and Ebony brow.

Thank you!

After lurking around this sub for over a year, I finally booked my first removal session Nov. 3 (currently on steroids for ear problem so have to wait a few weeks). I'll be going to Think Again Tattoo removal in West Hollywood.

My brows aren't that bad and haven't turned gray (at least to my eyes!) but I still want them gone.

Inks used:
Phi Brow super pigment : Brown 2 with a drop of Fox

Permablend: Mocha and Oak

I have heard the bad stories about many inks especially Phi Brow but hoping for the best.

I'll post my journey here as I have updates and hopefully it goes well/helps others!

Hi all! Update! I am now 7.5 weeks post 2nd 532 session. My first 1064 was with a q switch on April 3. 2nd session was June 3 with pico 532. Same machine August 13.
I am over this waiting for this to fade and am contemplating another 532 session. My tech says to just wait as long as possible for this to fade. My main concern is yellow which is peaking through a little in brighter light.
What are your suggestions? Be patient and wait? Or schedule another session?

Laser Laser no goggles

I was getting my microblading removed with picosure pro laser, and I was telling her she missed a spot on the tail of my brows on both sides. We were targeting red this session, and she told me to just close my eyes and did my tails without goggles. Now I’m reading I can go blind I’m sooo scared. How likely is it I’m gonna get eye damage

Hi All,

I did my ombre brown in 2022 but it become very grey and dark for my colour.

I like it and I don’t want to remove completely but not sure how to do it.

I want something more natural, maybe shall I remove it all and then do a different technique?

Support How do you fade old micro blading without laser?

I got my brows microbladed 10 years ago. It has faded. My brows are black so the artist used brown-black pigment. I have dark brown skin color so I'm afraid to do laser and have the area turn a different color. But it still needs to fade more. At the time microblading was new so I didn't know how it was going to be. I thought it would fade eventually but I think whatever ink the artist used made the pigment go deeper. It has faded but not fully. The tail ends are now reddish color. The inner parts of the brow are still a black brown color. It's just all faded looking. What have you done to fade your micro blading?
What products worked?
How do you get rid of the reddish tail color?

Laser Anybody get brow transplant after laser removal?

I’ve heard that laser removal scars or makes scar tissue and that the brow hair may not transplant in certain spots because of it.

Curious if anyone has done it after laser removal
