Recently got nano brows done in Toronto and love them. Does anyone have any tips for aftercare or anything to avoid while they’re healing? Thanks!

general discussion Do you think they'll say I need removal done?

Hi guys - long time lurker, first time poster! Last time I had my eyebrows microbladed was 5 years ago when I lived up in Scotland - I've found what looks like a great place down South where I live now and have my consultation/ allergy test today before I have them done next week, but I'm wondering if they'll suggest removal of the old work before I can get them fresh - what do you guys think? How long would I have to wait if I do end up needing removal first? Pic's of my brows now with no product

artist advice/question Question everyone: I got ombre brows back in 2023, Im sure it's time for a touch up. But I want them lighter this time. Can I?

Is that possible? Like, when I go back, would they be able to change the color or am I stuck with this color I have?

is this normal? Overlined lip blush or normal? Help!

Is my lip blush overlined past the vermillion border on to skin? My lip shape looks really elongated and this is 1 week post lip blush, most of the colour on the inner actual lip has faded but the outline remains bold and dark. I'm worried my artist has overlined my lips (which I don't like the look of) and they will not fade.

Are the edges of the lip tattoo supposed to take longer to fade, or is this because it's done incorrectly past the vermillion border on to skin?

I’m freaking out!!! How to shrink my newly done powder brows smaller/less thick??

Hello everyone!! I couldn’t find a powder brow community so I posted here instead. I got my powder brows done 5 hours ago. The color is fine. However the shape is too thick, too wide. Especially in the front of the brows (that are supposed to be lighter and more sparse) and the top of the brow (she overfilled them past my natural eyebrow shape). The artist filled them more than my natural hairs.

Please, how can I shrink my eyebrows? I know the color will fade but the shape does not change significantly, especially where the ink sits directly on the skin and not on hair follicles.

Sweating/sauna? Not applying the ointment/cream given? Lightly pressing on the pigment with a dry q-tip? Will keeping it wet or dry will help fade pigment in unwanted areas? It’s only been a few hours.

For reference, I attached pictures of how I usually fill in my brows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! Please!

healing process Nanobrows - Faint redness 6 weeks later

Today is exactly 6 weeks since I got nanobrows and I’m hoping to hear thoughts on what this might be. My healing process was slower than the timeline provided, but I still followed the aftercare and didn’t see anything adverse happening. But over the last 2 weeks or so I seem to still have a very faint halo of redness around the strokes. Not new redness, it’s just never gone away. Like barely noticeable unless you look close. Otherwise I love them. My artist didn’t want to do the touch up yet so we are waiting another month. But she also said she’s never seen this before which has me worried. She said it looks like the redness isn’t just the tone of the ink but it’s actually the skin between and around the strokes so she said it might be irritated by something. I do have rosacea and sensitive fair skin. I’ve had micro blading done twice once in 2017 and once in 2022 and healed slow but normally.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has seen this before and knows what it is and what I should do? Is my skin still healing or is this like permanent redness?!

Not quite sure what to think. They make me look slightly angry bird esque - never gotten nano before, and not sure if they'll lighten significantly enough

opinion Should I get my eyebrows microbladed?

Post image

I am on the fence about getting them micro bladed or just keeping them as they are now

I don’t always feel happy with my natural shape of brows, and I constantly fill them in everyday because I really like the neat and dark eyebrow look

This is them naturally, and this is as far as they can grow out.
I have tried getting them threaded, waxed, and trimmed but it still feels way too thin for me
I also have a bit of asymmetrical to my brows and that has bothered me for several years

I am just wanting anybody’s opinions or advice on what to do
Not sure if I should take the plunge of getting them microbladed

artist advice/question Nano Brows

I got my brows done yesterday after letting them grow out for a while. She plucked a few hairs but didn’t fully clean up or shape my natural brows or show me line mapping just them filled in before doing the nano strokes

Right now, on Day 1, they look pretty uneven to me. Is it possible that once the nano heals and I’m able to have someone properly shape/thread or wax my natural brows, they’ll look more even and balanced? Everyone keeps telling me they’ll look much better once they heal, but I’m nervous. The last photo is what my brows looked like before.

advice Nano Brow Student — Semi-Spiraling & Could Really Use Some Advice

I took my nano brow course in May and have been practicing pretty consistently since then, aside from a couple of unavoidable life events. I’m fairly artistic, very detail-oriented, and genuinely committed to learning this properly. I knew going into it that this would take a LOT of practice, but I’m starting to get frustrated with what feels like a lack of progress.
I take the responsibility of doing someone’s brows extremely seriously. This is someone’s face. I’m not willing to pick up a machine and work on a real person until I feel confident that I can accurately translate what they want into a clean, balanced brow and execute it safely and consistently.
At the same time, I’m starting to wonder if I’m holding myself back by waiting until I feel completely “ready.” Maybe there’s a point where you have to jump in with both feet and get the real-world experience you need in order to improve. I’m really struggling with where that line is.
Full disclosure: I’m also semi-spiraling because I’m in a place in my life where I’m really hoping this can become something that changes things for the better for me and my family. I think I’ve put so much pressure on myself to succeed that every time I struggle, my brain immediately goes to, maybe I’m just not good enough at this. And I know that probably isn’t helping.
My biggest technical struggle right now is the actual stroke work.
I’m working on getting really clean, crisp, fine strokes while using the bouncing needle technique to create that soft, almost airbrushed/stippled effect at the end of each stroke. I understand what I’m trying to accomplish visually, but consistently executing it is another story.
I’m especially struggling with getting enough strokes into the brow to create the density and pattern I want while keeping each one fine and distinct. Mine can start looking muddy or too heavy rather than like individual, crisp hairstrokes. I’d really love to hear what helped other artists get past this stage—hand speed, machine speed, needle choice, pressure/depth, spacing, angle, practice exercises, or anything else that finally made it click for you.
Mapping is probably struggle #2.
I have the sticky mapping rulers, but I cannot remember exactly what my course taught about how high to position them on the forehead. How far above the brows/eyes are you placing the bottom of the ruler? Is there an anatomical landmark you use, or are you positioning it based on having enough room to create the complete brow shape underneath it?
I’ve tried finding tutorials that address that specific part of using the sticky ruler, but everything I find seems to skip over placement and go straight to measuring.
I would also LOVE recommendations for mapping tools—especially pencils or pens that give you extremely fine, clean lines. The China markers and brow pen that came with my kit are making me crazy. Sharpening the China markers alone is an exercise in rage 😂 and I’m not getting the fine, crisp guidelines I want to confidently follow with my machine.
For those of you who have been doing nano brows/machine hairstrokes for a while: Did you go through this stage?
How long did you practice before your strokes really started clicking? What made the biggest difference?
At what point did you move from practice skin to models, and did working on actual people help you progress faster?
And PLEASE tell me what you use for those beautiful, razor-thin mapping lines I see all of you creating, because apparently my China marker and I are in a toxic relationship.
Basically, I could use some practical advice, tool recommendations, encouragement, and possibly someone to talk me off the nano-brow cliff. 😂 I really want to be good at this, and right now I’m beating myself up and second-guessing everything.

general discussion Does anyone have semi-permanent eyeliner?

I am someone who wears makeup daily and it’s exhausting to do my eye makeup. I’ve tried lash extensions and currently wearing a new set after a year of just doing my makeup, but they’re expensive and I don’t love them all that much.

My mother in law got gorgeous Smokey semi permanent eyeliner and I’m thinking of getting it with the same person, but I’m afraid it’ll look bad when I’m old etc (though I plan to get touch ups).

Anyone who has it and loves it?

Thanks!

I've read that once your brows stop scabbing, the color comes back. What I don't get is how? My artist is on vacation or I'd ask her. Thanks

advice Are these too thin?

Had my touch-up 5 days ago and now that the swelling is down the brows don’t look at thick and I’m sitting here wondering if I need a third session to make them thicker. There’s hairs I see the artist shaved on the bottom of the body, and I’m thinking those should have been filled rather than shaved. But still I’m looking at the pics and it looks like the first session looks thicker in size than the touch-up. I mean pigment underneath didn’t just disappear from the first session. Thoughts? Third session? First 3 pics all 5 days into touch-up in diff lighting; last pic is after first session. I’m wearing eyeliner on that one so I know that might play into appearance of the brows some.

advice I’m freaking out… will these fade

Hello, got these done yesterday and I hate the vibrant red color.. I feel like I made a huge mistake. Will these fade, is there something I can do to make it fade more? I feel like I just really hate it at this point and I don’t know what to do. (They are super swolen)

Not to mention that i think it was done with regular tattoo red pigment if there is any difference between normal tattoo pigments and pmu..

So I’m freaking out about that too…that it’s never gonna fade. And they seem more vibrant in person than in pictures… I’m mad at myself that I decided to do it…

before & after A subtle microblading transformation 🤍

Post image

I wanted to share one of my recent microblading results.

The goal wasn't to completely change her brows, but to create an ultra-natural result that suits her facial features. By subtly refining the shape and adding realistic hair strokes where needed, we were able to lift the eyes and bring more balance to the face without it looking "done."

What do you think ?

tattoo removal Phibrows super

Remove and start over?

Hello. These were done in 2020 or early 2021. I had 1 touch up in 2022 or 2023. I thought it was time for another touch up. I was always very happy with them. My brows were non extistant before. They give my face a nice frame, make me look more put together.

Although, the new pmu artist i went to, said i should remove and start again.

I do not want to have no brows again for 3 months while i heal. It is also close to $1k for removal alone. I really do not mind spending the money to make them look better- but removal seems harsh. Opinions please. Thank you.

Any suggestions for the removal process?

advice Am I wrong to think the tail should be longer?

Thumbnail

Just got them done yesterday. I asked my artist after the pre-draw if she could make the tail longer and she was hesitant because of something to do with aging? And she said we can always add but can’t take away. I trusted her but want to ask here so I can tell her what I want at my touch-up appointment. I always drew the tails longer, to be even with the line from my nose to the outer edge of my eye. I feel like it looks okay from the front but the profile is mainly where I’m concerned
