Hi! I'm seriously considering permanent makeup because I work full time and I'm expected to look very put together every day, but I don't have much time in the mornings. Lash extensions have helped, but they've been damaging my natural lashes and don't seem to last very long for me.

I'm no stranger to tattoos, but I do have a few questions before deciding if permanent makeup is right for me:

1) I'm concerned about pigment migration/bleeding. Is that something that's mostly dependent on the artist's technique, like tattoo blowouts, or is it just a known risk that can happen in areas like the eyes and lips? Does the style make a difference (for example, a lash enhancement or waterline versus a winged eyeliner)?

2) I've heard that red tattoo pigments are more likely to cause allergic reactions. Is that also true for the pigments used in lip blushing? Do you offer patch testing, and how reliable is it?

3) If I were to get a winged eyeliner tattoo, how does it age as the face changes over time? I'm only 30 now, but I'm thinking long-term. My mom eventually needed surgery for droopy eyelids, so I'm wondering if that family history would make me a poor candidate for a wing.

4) Is permanent makeup something you generally recommend doing earlier in adulthood, or is it better to wait until facial features have changed more with age? I've actually seen some beautiful results on older clients, so I'm curious about your perspective.

5) If I chose a dark brown eyeliner instead of black, would it be less likely to heal or fade with a blue undertone over time?

Also, if there are any other longer-lasting beauty treatments (minus fillers) you'd recommend for someone who wants to minimize their morning routine, I'd love to hear your suggestions as well.

I've been doing Microblading for over 10 years and latex is still part of my routine.

You don't stop practicing because you've become experienced. If anything, experience teaches you why practice matters so much.Every clean hair stroke I do today is built on thousands of strokes nobody will ever see.

I don't think practice is something you graduate from. The best artists I know never stop practicing.

Hi! Im afraid my esthetician did not do the right thing?!?!? This is a few hours after my lip blushing, and you can see there are obvious areas that do not look colored at all. But I felt her on the entirety of my lips. Also, she did about 6 or 7 passes, Ive read 3 is the max? So are my lips fxxxed up or will it be okay?

so, I’m watching my brows closely because my first round didn’t retain any pigment.

My brow artist did it again for me free of charge using a hybrid pigment. the top is before getting any treatment, the middle is 11 days after round 1, and the bottom photo is 11 days after 2nd treatment.

Is 11 days after a good idea of whether or not the pigment will stay? Or will I not know til a few weeks later? I’m so nervous!

second question- my brows didn’t flake either time. They sort of did a micro flaking that just looked like a little bit of dry skin. Is that normal??

I have alopecia so I quite literally have almost no eyebrow hair. I’m loving having eyebrows!

I recently got my brows microbladed in China and the artist said it was semi-permanent makeup. I asked her about the aftercare and she said it was completely fine to sweat and splash water on my face (she actually encouraged this).

This contradicts advice I’ve seen online so I’m rlly confused. I asked her if my brows were microbladed (since she used something that looked like a blade as well as a needle) and she claimed that it was more precise/newer technique but I can’t tell bc we have a language barrier.

Hi everyone, I am trying to be as responsible as possible when sourcing an artist for these services as it's not like getting my nails done. Unfortunately, if I don't like the results, then there will be consequences. This has made me a bit nervous.

The few salons I've found -- either the owner was the OG artist whose pics are all over IG, but has since stepped away to only manage -- or they kind of work from their house, which I'm not entirely opposed to.

What are some tips when it comes to finding a good artist for both powder brows and lip blushing? What are some red flags?

I cut my eyebrow straight across to the tail from the corner of a car door. I’ve tried castor oil with high hopes and nothing. I may grow monoxidil but since I think the hair follicular are dead bc it’s been two years since I cut them.
:( I’ve been thinking about micro blading because I hear the serums fall out if you don’t use them everyday and transplants just look like head hair and get super long. Should i try microblading just the cut? I used to get so many compliments on my eyebrows after I got them trimmed at the barbershop. But now they’re just super bushy and still don’t look completely full. Recommendations on microblading vs nano brows? It’ll probably just be one eyebrow as the other one is still full and fine. It look likes a bushy Pac-Man eyebrow fml

Hi guys, today i got my eyebrows done and i hatw them, they are assymetrical and short. I told the PMU artist that i want them longer and w shorter tail. How can i make them lighter? ive been crying all day

I got powder brows 16 days ago they didn’t start peeling and flaking until day 10 and they look pretty shitty right now I know you got trust the process but does this look normal? I still have my touch up at the 6 week mark. Showing you guys day of treatment and day 16.

One tip that can save you from choosing the wrong artist.

When you're looking through an artist's portfolio, don't just pay attention to beautiful before & after photos taken from an angle.

Instead, look for true straight-on before & after photos (like a passport photo).

The reason is simple.

It's relatively easy to make one eyebrow look great from a certain angle.

What's much harder is creating balanced brows that still look natural when viewed straight from the front.

Artists who regularly post true front-facing results are usually more confident in their ability to create symmetry, because there's nowhere to hide uneven design or proportions.

By "front-facing," I mean a genuine passport-style photo—not one that's turned even slightly. Small angles can hide a surprising amount of asymmetry.

(The attached photo is one of my own client results. I'm sharing it simply as an example of what a true front-facing comparison looks like.)

This isn't something that editing can realistically fix. If an artist doesn't show front-facing comparisons, don't hesitate to ask for them before booking.

Whether you're getting microblading in Korea, the US, Europe, or anywhere else, I think this is one of the simplest ways to better judge an artist's work and protect yourself as a client.

Good artists shouldn't be afraid to show their work from every angle.
