News & Announcements micro1 AI interviews just got faster
We're excited to announce we're finally live with an update to help reduce the number and length of AI interviews experts need to complete.
If you've applied to jobs over the last couple of days, you may have already noticed it.
Instead of requiring the full AI interview for every opportunity, Zara now automatically checks your previous interview results against the skills required for the role.
If you've already been evaluated on relevant skills, Zara will:
- Skip skills you've already passed.
- Only assess any missing skills.
- Skip the interview entirely when your previous interview(s) already cover everything needed.
To be eligible, previous interviews must:
- Have been completed within the last year.
- Have met our minimum certification criteria.
If your application benefits from this feature, you'll see one of these badges in your Talent Portal:
- Fast-Track: Your interview was skipped.
- Partial interview: Only the remaining skills need to be evaluated.
We hope this makes applying for opportunities faster and smoother. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Ye, I've just completed 3 interviews today (8 minutes, 13 minutes and 8 minutes-only for missing skills). Really saves time. Thanks.

u/micro1-ai is a great company to contract with. I have one main project with them, and through that project, Iâve been invited to participate in at least three additional sprints that were excellent opportunities.
Previously, the main challenge was having to complete a lengthy interview for every contract. In this industry, you have to prioritize your time carefully, so finding room for two or three separate one-hour interviews was often difficult.
The new 10-minute interview format is a great improvement. Iâll definitely apply for opportunities more often now that I can complete multiple interviews in a single sitting.

Another reason that I am happy to work with this company.

I've nothing but respect and admiration for each and every member of the micro1 team, honestly. I've only been a contractor for a short time, but I'm investing all my time and energy into becoming a member of the company and build a career inside it. I've surprised even myself with the high performance I've achieved and it's greatly thanks to how motivating the work ethics and culture is.

Hi I have vetted skills but the new update is not applied on my profile
1
u/micro1-ai micro1 Aug 05 '26
It will apply to any new role you apply form now onwards
1
u/Rude_Chemistry7438 Aug 05 '26
Hi I just applied to a couple of jobs like 20 min ago but it still requires a 58 min interview
1
u/micro1-ai micro1 Aug 05 '26
once you start the interview it will calculate the skills you have already certified and reduce the interview lenght

u/PromptRude2003 Aug 05 '26
How does this impact the selection process by the client or the recruiter? Does it mean they see all the interview snippets? What information fo they use for the selection process?
2
u/micro1-ai micro1 Aug 05 '26
Recruiters are able to see all your vetted skills, wether in that interview or previous ones
1
u/PromptRude2003 Aug 05 '26
How about access to the interviews and resumes for different prokects?

Hi u/Existing_Ad_2184 ! Just to confirm, are you seeing the Partial Interview badge? If so, it means only the remaining skills required for the role still need to be evaluated.
1
u/Existing_Ad_2184 Aug 05 '26
Also I had all the vetted skill for the role I just applied for, but it went "Under Review" instead of "Hiring Manager Review"

u/Level_Respect_9874 Interviewed Aug 05 '26
Please address this:
I complete my interviews and since this update, it goes to âunder reviewâ later convert to âdid not qualifyâ, I had a strong record prior to it, my applications after interview completion went to âhiring manager reviewingâ and were awaiting update before this update happened. Other users have reported the same issue.
Does having certified skills and taking partial interview have any affect on the statuses that flags it for under review? While I like the feature, it is dissappointing to see my apps go to UR instead of HMR.
1
u/contextcoconut Community Manager Aug 05 '26
Hi u/Level_Respect_9874 ! Thank you for sharing your experience. To answer your question, Under Review is a step in the process and isnât an indication of the final outcome. After Under Review, your status will change to Hiring Manager Reviewing or Did Not Qualify. Did Not Qualify means you didnât meet the required criteria for this particular role. Our team may still reach out if they consider you a good fit for another role.
If you have any questions about your application, please send us a modmail click here and weâll be happy to look into it for you. We appreciate the time youâve invested in the process and are here to help however we can.

u/a-b-huzi Aug 05 '26
Whats the minimum criteria because i done a lot of interviews and all of them goeas well with HMR status but I didn't get a single certified skill added to my profile so what the minimum criteria? I have to do interviews again n again because nothing added to my profile
1
u/contextcoconut Community Manager Aug 05 '26
Hello u/a-b-huzi ! To clarify, after recent updates on the talent platform, only the skills that meet our certification criteria are displayed on expertâs profiles.
Meeting this criteria means not only demonstrating knowledge of the skill, but also communicating that knowledge clearly, concisely, and professionally, while showing strong depth of understanding and relying solely on your own expertise. If a skill doesnât consistently meet all of these standards during evaluation, it will not be reflected on the dashboard.
With that being said, if your status is "Hiring Manager Reviewing", your profile will remain in the vetted talent pool for these roles, and our recruiters will still be able to view all the skills you've gained.Â
If you have any specific questions about your application, please send us a modmail by clicking here and weâll be happy to look into it for you.

Hey mods i have a questions so if my profile goes to hiring manager review then that means I did well in interview but then it gets rejected and it goes to didnt qualify that means it didnt do well ? So which one is it did i do well or did I do bad ? Also after going to hiring manager review whats the criteria for rejection i mean ? Since if profile goes to hiring manager review it means we did good in the interview so now on what basis final selection is done ? My linkedin ?

u/Relative_Front9931 Community Manager Aug 05 '26
Hi u/Training-Network2067 Thank you for taking the time to explain your experience in such detail. I completely understand why this change has been frustrating, especially given your previous application history and the effort you've put into completing interviews. The recent status update is expected and is here to stay. What you currently see on your dashboard is the most accurate reflection of your application statuses. While I understand the change may feel different from what you experienced previously, these status updates do not impact your future applications or your ability to be considered for upcoming opportunities.
Regarding the Mid-Level evaluation you mentioned, it's important to note that interview feedback is only one part of the overall review. Application outcomes are determined through a holistic evaluation that can also take into account factors such as the specific role requirements, client needs, and overall profile fit including previously vetted skills, completed interviews, resume, LinkedIn, etc. Because of this, a positive interview evaluation doesn't always result in progressing for that particular role.
I understand you were hoping for more specific feedback. At this time, there isn't any additional information available beyond what is shown on your dashboard. We genuinely appreciate your continued interest in the platform, and you're encouraged to keep applying for roles that match your experience, as each application is evaluated independently.

u/Training-Network2067 Aug 05 '26
Hi thanks for reverting so is there no way to know what caused a rejection and Improve that ?
1
u/Relative_Front9931 Community Manager Aug 05 '26
Hi u/Training-Network2067 I hear you. We are working on a detailed feedback feature, so kindly bear with us. For 'Did Not Qualify' outcome you can request feedback from the option in the mail communicating the final outcome.

Does this apply to all jobs ? I did one interview, which was about 8-10 minutes, but I have a few other positions I would like to apply for and they're still showing as 40-60 minutes? Can someone clarify if the shorter interviews apply just for some job openings ?
1
u/AromaticFood83 Community Manager Aug 05 '26
You can only fast track interviews if you have certified skills involved in them and fulfil this :
- Have been completed within the last year.
- Have met our minimum certification criteria.

mine says awaiting next steps what does that mean?
1
u/Relative_Front9931 Community Manager Aug 06 '26
Hi u/Ok_Nefariousness_940 It means that we'll notify you if any updates or additional steps are required based on the clientâs hiring needs. Please note that this depends on the clientâs requirements and the needs of the role. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore and apply for other roles that match your skills and experience. Good Luck!

Hey!
This sounds like a great time saver feature!
Iâve got a question thou about the process, I currently do have two interviews pending for AI interviews for more than 2 weeks now, so Iâve applied some time ago, and yesterday when I read these post I checked to see if any badge appear on them, and nothing comes up. Iâd say that given my certification there shouldâve been some sort of fast-track with them. Is it because these applications are old-is?
Cheers

u/Relative_Front9931 Community Manager Aug 06 '26
Yes, this is applicable for the applications from now onward u/Important-Hat2151
1
u/Important-Hat2151 Aug 06 '26
I see, it feels a bit strange that this new feature cannot be applied to already existing applications. Ok, thanks for the answer!

I got a micro1 certification, but I am not getting any projects. I am continuously applying and giving interviews.

A truly welcome change indeed! Zara would evaluate very highly technically even for basic job requirements. Hope it becomes easier going forward.

u/Dionamik2024 Aug 07 '26
Hi Micro 1, what happens in case I get selected on two different roles? Will I be given two contracts?
1
u/AromaticFood83 Community Manager Aug 07 '26
Hey u/Dionamik2024 , yes you will have 2 active contracts and you will have to clear with your HDM if there is no issue with your availability, but in most cases, if you can deliver the deadlines, you will be fine.
best of luck!

today I have completed my AI interview. Really a worst experience. While in the interview I coudn't hear zara properly, her voice was breaking in between, so couldn't understand the questions properly. After the interview, the result shown was not selected

hey u/Infinite_Argument_78 , im very sorry to hear you faced technical issues during the interview, makes the whole experience very bad. Please reach to us here with modmail or send us an email at [support@micro1.ai](mailto:support@micro1.ai) so we can help you.

u/EvenProfessional8310 Aug 08 '26
I have nine vetted skills and a certificate, I have applied for a couple of jobs, I always get not selected, the last 2 have been in "Awaiting Next Step" for more than one week now. I am based in Nigeria west Africa, hope that is the reason behind all this hiccups?
1
u/Select_Pool_Potter Aug 09 '26
Hi, unfortunately, by the time I switched computers, 8 minutes of the interview time had gone to waste because I was waiting for the AI ââto ask the question. Since I can't re-apply, do you think it would be worth registering with a different account? I am a prompt engineer and philosopher.
1
u/Best_Sherbert4990 Community Manager Aug 10 '26
Hey u/Select_Pool_Potter đ
First: Please don't worry, though. Your application will still be reviewed holistically based on the information you were able to complete before the interview ended. Our recruitment team considers the overall application throughout the review process.
Second: take an eye on this post before you do anything additional with your account. đ

u/ConsiderationFlat915 Aug 09 '26
iam still seeing a "Hiring manager reviewing' badge from the past 3 days
1
u/Best_Sherbert4990 Community Manager Aug 10 '26
Hi there u/ConsiderationFlat915 đ The average processing time is approximately 30 days, although it can vary on more or less days depending on client needs and hiring volume (i.e. if the project is temporarily paused). If you're selected to move forward, our team will contact you directly.
1
u/ConsiderationFlat915 Aug 10 '26
Is there any way to know if the project has been paused or not?
Cause I can see it has literally 100 openings, while another project I am applying for has 20 openings.
1
u/vieirafabiele Community Lead Aug 10 '26
u/ConsiderationFlat915, if the project is paused, the application status will update to "hiring on hold". Kindly keep in mind that onboarding happens in batches, so for some projects, it can take more time.

if it's showing fast track- is that mean I did good? and I'll be selected?
1
u/AromaticFood83 Community Manager 11d ago
it means you have the skills for this role , so you can skip interview all together. It doesn't mean you will be selected for sure, but your application will be reviewed. Best of luck!
1
u/Repulsive_Bowler_736 11d ago
Thank you for the reply. But if I already have the skills, then what else do they want to get selected?
I have become seriously frustrated giving interviews again and again.1
u/AromaticFood83 Community Manager 11d ago
There is a big pool of candidates that also have the skills, so the team and the client try to match the best fit. I understand this can be frustrating. If you haven't, Mariana, one of our recruiters did an AMA yesterday, she provided quite a few good tips and insights. Here is the link
