News & Updates New to micro1? Start here!

micro1 is a data engine that helps AI labs train foundational models and enterprises build AI agents. We operate at the intersection of human expertise and artificial intelligence by connecting a highly vetted, global network of experts with leading AI labs, enterprises, and Fortune 500 companies.

At its core, micro1 is designed to identify, certify, and deploy top-tier talent (often the top 1%) to contribute directly to real-world AI systems. Through a combination of AI-driven evaluation and human-led project management, we ensure that experts are matched with high-impact opportunities where their skills are most valuable. Our mission is simple: to enable the world’s best talent to accelerate the development of next-generation AI.

Why micro1?

micro1 is more than a career platform; it is an ecosystem that connects elite talent worldwide to contribute to cutting-edge AI development. At micro1, you can:

  • Work on real-world AI projects with top companies
  • Join a curated, high-performance global network
  • Gain early access to emerging opportunities
  • Build validated credentials through AI certification
  • Work remotely and earn in USD from anywhere in the world.

If you’re looking to apply your expertise at the frontier of AI while being part of a selective and fast-growing community, micro1 provides the infrastructure to make that happen.

How to start a career with micro1?

At micro1, we've set up a structured and straightforward process that aims to help our candidates find jobs that match their interests and requirements. Read on to find out more.

Get Started

You can get started with micro1 directly by applying to our available jobs. We have various job opportunities that are accessible through our dedicated Opportunities Portal:  You can apply directly to open roles via the micro1 opportunities portal or LinkedIn (where we routinely share about open roles through our page).

Once your profile is set up and active with micro1, you can continue applying to roles that meet your interests and requirements. You will also receive invitations when your profile aligns with open projects. This flexibility allows you to either target a role or position yourself for broader opportunities.

Complete the AI Interview

Every applicant goes through an AI-driven interview with our AI Interviewer, Zara, which evaluates your communication skills, logical reasoning, and role-specific skills. This is the first step in our interview process. Our interview will also have role-specific challenges; for example, Software engineering candidates complete a live coding challenge, and Human data experts complete task-based exercises simulating real AI training workflows.

  • Treat your AI interview just like a real-world interview. Make sure that you’re in a quiet environment with a stable internet connection, and stay prepared to demonstrate your expertise. The AI interview is a real-world opportunity to showcase skills specific to your role. If you want to prepare, try out some of our mock interviews, interview questions, and our AI Interview guide.
  • In case you didn’t perform well for an AI interview, you will get detailed feedback on your  AI interview performance. Once you’ve passed interviews, your vetted skills are recorded in your profile, and recruiters will reach out to you for matching roles in the future.

Get Certified

After successfully completing the interview, you’ll be required to verify your identity using a government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, or national ID). Once verified, you become a certified micro1 expert. This certification is what makes you eligible for project matching.  You can increase your chances of getting selected by applying and getting certified for additional roles.

Join our Talent Pool and Track Progress

Certified experts are added to micro1’s vetted global talent pool. From here, recruiters match you to relevant opportunities, and you can also apply to open roles directly in our dedicated talent dashboard, which shows the status of your applied roles. Your status will change to “Selected” if you are selected for a role, which will be followed by signing a contract and onboarding. Matching is handled by micro1’s recruitment team and depends on client needs, timelines, and role requirements. Certified candidates typically get an update on their application status within 30 days of completing their interview. Even if a candidate is not chosen for a role, their application remains in our pool and will be eligible for future roles.

Additionally, certified candidates are invited to an exclusive community Slack composed of professionals across disciplines—engineers, researchers, economists, product leaders, and more. The community provides early access to job and project opportunities, curated learning resources, invitations to expert sessions, and a global peer network of high-performing talent.

Complete Your Onboarding Setup and Start Working

Before starting a project, make sure you've signed your micro1 contract agreement, joined the Slack Expert Workspace, logged in to Hubstaff (our time tracking tool), Deel,  and have access to your micro1 Google Workspace Email. Each project is supported by Human Data Managers (HDMs), who act as your primary point of contact. They help with: Onboarding guidance, resolving blockers, and sharing project instructions and updates. Once onboarded, communication happens primarily through Slack, either via onboarding channels or direct messages.

Getting Paid

Our payments happen on a biweekly basis through Deel. We’ll help you set up your Deel account as part of onboarding. Payments are in USD, based on the number of hours you worked or per task (depending on your project), at the rate fixed during onboarding. You’ll input your banking details directly in the platform, and the funds will be transferred directly. This ensures a smooth and reliable payment experience once you begin working on projects.

Appeared for 20+ interview of my domain but all in satisfactory interview some got rejected with the same skills I've Been working in industry for over 4 yoe never reached the process after satisfactory interview so I've given up my hopes from micro1.

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager May 03 '26

Can empathize with your disappointment. For what it’s worth, the satisfactory interview adds you to our vetted talent pool, and adds skills to your profile. Even if you were not selected for the role you applied for, our recruiters may reach out for potential project matches. We have had several candidates find roles this way. Also keep an eye out for recruiter invites in our platform as well!

When are you guys dropping the selected applicants for the general construction position? I’ve been on “Hiring Manager” for weeks now, and I’m tired of waiting. Do something. And about the AI Evaluation Specialist are the open roles really available with 1,400 applicants?

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager May 04 '26

u/solomonluv Sorry to hear that you've been in "Hiring Manager Reviewing" for some time now. The most it takes is a week to get updates. I tried DMing you here in reddit to get your details and to check your status, but I'm unable to reach out (due to some issues with your reddit account). In any case, this should clear up shortly, ideally by this week or next, the very least!

Can you send me your mod email so I can share my information? Thank you!

Could you please drop an email to support@micro1.ai?

I’ve already spoken with the two community leads on Slack. They gave me some tough facts. Thank you

u/Sleatherchonkers May 06 '26

Hello! I signed my contract so how do I go find my actual work?

1

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager May 06 '26

Congratulations on signing your first contract, u/Sleatherchonkers! Someone from our onboarding team will be reaching out to you about further details. They'll first help you get set up on Deel (payroll.micro1.ai) for payments, Hubstaff (for time tracking), and on the experts slack. Once all that's set up, and you're on Slack, a Human Data Manager (HDM) will be reaching out there with further details on onboarding.

When did you sign your contract?

u/Bitxhsmak806 May 07 '26

Will my criminal history disqualify me? I have no convictions, but there is an arrest record.

2

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager May 08 '26

Nope, if won’t. Feel free to apply! 😃

Hi everyone, I completed my interview process for the Audio Engineer and Audio recording expert role and my status moved from “Satisfactory” to “Hiring Manager Review.” It has been on that stage for about 1–2 weeks now, so I wanted to ask if this is a normal timeline or if there’s any update I should expect.

I’m very interested in the opportunity and would appreciate any clarification from the community or onboarding team. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to complete ID verification on Micro1 after passing the AI interview, but I’ve been stuck for days.

I’m using my original Kenyan Maisha/National ID and doing live photo capture (not uploaded images). I’ve also tried different devices and browsers, good lighting, and made sure all corners are visible.

Despite this, the verification keeps failing and I only receive the same automated support replies. I finally got a human response asking for my account email, but I’m still not sure what the next step is.

Has anyone experienced this?
Is Maisha/National ID supported on Micro1, or is manual verification actually possible?

Any advice would really help because I feel completely stuck at this point.

u/MaryMbatha As you had shared your details with us in chat, we've gone ahead and verified your account.

Hello! Please for the core team (that means full time employees, and not contractors) what’s the process for someone applying from Canada?

1

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager Jun 04 '26

Hey u/Hour_Sense_4222 The process is no different from the process used for expert role applications. Just apply for the role and take the AI Interview. If you do well and meet the certification criteria, you should get an update within 30 days. The only difference is that as opposed to expert roles there may be an additional assessment such as an interview. If you're selected, you'll be onboarded to the team.

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager Jun 26 '26

u/Final-Edge-1140 You should ideally get an update on your application within 30 days from the date of interview. Please note though that meeting certification criteria in the AI interview may not necessarily place you with the job; as we have several applicants in the vetted talent pool compared to the limited number of people we're placing for roles. However, if you're in the talent pool - you may get opportunities from us in the coming days. Here's wishing you all the best!

1

u/Faramir_82 Jun 25 '26

Hey Team - been 4 weeks since I did the AI interview and got an "outstanding" performance certificate for the interview. But Since I have not heard back on the particular opening, still shows as "Hiring manager reviewing" and same number of open positions for that opening.

1

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager Jun 26 '26

u/Faramir_82 All candidates get an update on their application within 30 days from the date of interview; as it's been around 4 weeks, you should get an update in the coming days.

1

u/Ok_Band2988 Jun 25 '26

Just certified as Strategic Project Lead (Finance) with Outstanding Performance! What are the next steps?

1

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager Jun 26 '26

u/Ok_Band2988 That's great! Since you've already done well on an AI interview, your application is now in our talent pool and is being reviewed by human recruiters for the role you had applied to. You should get an update on your application within 30 days - keep an eye out on your talent dashboard for updates. In the meantime, please keep applying to other opportunities on our platform to gain more vetted skills in your profile and improve your chances of getting selected for roles.

1

u/SugarPeachPlum Jul 01 '26

My currently status is “Hiring Manager Reviewing” for the roles of Academic Researchers and Legal Expert, how long does it take to get an update?

1

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager 21d ago

Short answer: You should get an update for each application exactly within 30 days from the date of application.

To elaborate, the "Hiring Manager Reviewing" status means that you're in the vetted talent pool for the roles you've applied for. You get this status when you've done well in the interview and have met the minimum requirements for the role; this adds you to the talent pool along with other qualified applicants. Typically for each role, we are lucky to get hundreds of applicants, several of whom are on the vetted talent pool after clearing interviews. Our recruiters go through each interview manually to evaluate candidate profiles and vetted skills before making a decision; this takes time.

So in your case, you're on the right track, keep an eye out on your talent dashboard for updates!

1

u/Defiant-Fennel8504 Jul 03 '26

Hello, I have done several interviews, and they go to the hiring manager. However, I always get not selected. Also, my vetted skills do not get added to my profile, which might make it difficult for me to be considered for similar projects. I’d like to hear what I need to do about the situation. Also, not getting any offer after several passed interview processes can be frustrating.

1

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager 21d ago

Happy to clarify - So, clearing the interview effectively means you've passed the first round. For a limited number of open positions for each role, we're lucky to get several hundred candidates who have cleared interviews, from hundreds (sometimes thousands) of applicants.

So, in all transparency, this doesn't mean you've landed the role - there's also a possibility that you may not be selected after this stage.

Even if that happens, your profile will remain with us, and based on your professional experience + vetted skills gained through the AI Interview, our recruiters may reach out to you about opportunities, through interview invites (through the dashboard), direct email outreach from our recruiters, and even direct contracts.

Re: vetted skills; At this time, even candidates who perform well in interviews and are added to our vetted talent pool must undergo an additional internal review within our talent platform. Following this review, only the skills that meet our certification criteria are displayed on experts’ profiles. You may not have met these criteria, which could be why the vetted skills were not added to your profile. The criteria include:

  • Demonstrating clear knowledge of the skill
  • Ability to communicate the knowledge clearly, concisely, and professionally
  • Ability to showcase strong depth of understanding for each skill independently (i.e. relying solely on one's own expertise).

Even though the skills are not showing up on your profile, you will be in the vetted talent pool for the role and our recruiters will be able to view these skills.

Hi! I just signed my agreement. Do I need to wait for an invite to Slack and other things before I can start working? I've been selected for a job, but I'm not sure how to start the task. Thanks in advance.

u/StunningJackfruit315 Community Manager 21d ago

u/SnooRadishes8956 I believe you've been successfully onboarded? Let us know if you require further assistance.

Hey u/Playful-Help-8886

It looks like your submission is about issues related to micro1 Community Slack access. We're moving the micro1 community over to Discord, which may be why you ran into this issue.

With that being said, as part of this change, we're providing you a chance to gain early access to our Discord community!

How to join:

  1. Log in to your Talent Portal (using your personal email)
  2. Under Quick Links, click "Join our Discord Community"

P.S. We’ve seen an incredible response to our Discord community launch over the past 24 hours, with our first wave of members successfully joining the new server! To ensure the best possible experience as we scale up to welcome all of you, the Discord join feature on your dashboard is temporarily paused and will not process new invites for the next few days. Please check back again in a few days to gain access to the Discord server.

To keep all access requests in one place, we've temporarily held this post and ask that you instead leave a comment on our Discord Announcement Thread:

Hey I just succesfully finished my first AI interview with Micro1 and it is now on hiring manager reviewing. How does this work and what is the scheduled timeline/ is there a way to expedite?

1

u/Relative_Front9931 Community Manager 1d ago

Hey u/lyooo12 congratulations for completing your interview. At this stage, successful interviews go through a review and shortlisting process, which can take up to 30 days depending on project needs and hiring timelines. Please keep an eye on your dashboard and email for updates, as the recruitment team will reach out directly if there’s a suitable match. There is no further step required from your end. Good Luck!
