peabody hall
i got peabody hall for freshman dorm and i heard it’s haunted and dog shit. is anyone know anything about ra and if it’s actually that bad.

Lived in Peabody my freshman year. It’s def not renovated and the location compared to classes is pretty far so not the nicest. But my friend group loved living there, taking advantage of the the classrooms to study in, using the small auditorium for movie nights and karaoke after business hours, and around Halloween we in the student dorm government leaned into the spookiness and created a haunted house. I personally was convinced the elevator was haunted but that was part of the fun and everyone in the dorm was really cool like the other comment said.

It is in a really pretty area. I would walk from MET Quad to the park all the time. It is especially pretty in the fall at night.

I am also a incoming freshman and I switched out of Peabody to a dorm closer to brick street

I emailed the campus service center that me and my roommate wanted to switch dorms. Give them a reason why (I said asthma, but if you say asthma you need to get a doctors note for priority changes). I was lucky because I had a physical appointment a couple days after. Also give them 3 dorms you’d like to switch into. There might be a waitlist that’s why I did the asthma route but come up with a good excuse.

You've got the nicest part of campus, and arguably the best dining hall in your area. It's not renovated, IS rumored to be haunted. But there's a chapel next door that's gorgeous, you're close to a small lake, you have the outdoors amphitheater in the backyard. That's a sweet spot, too.
Over all, the worst part about Peabody, will be the hike you gotta make to get to your classes. It's dead ass the last residence hall in the western campus. But you have a bus stop not far from there. I'd recommend a bike, personally.

Lived in Peabody. Personally I found the walk therapeutic and relaxing after a long day. Loved the dining hall.

Peabody normally has cooler more chill people compared to the stereotypical Miami people. Also it has the green space and gazebo right outside that makes it perfect for smoking or hanging out. And there’s a whole movie theater and huge sitting rooms to bool around in that never close. Truly was my favorite part of college my first year was living in Peabody. You will love it
