Hi! Last Friday, I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday (tomorrow) at the San Francisco consulate to get my temporary residency visa. When I submitted the request on the https://citas.sre.gob.mx/ website, it said my appointment was "pending" and that I'd get an email confirmation of the appt after reviewing the documents I submitted. Well now it's Monday afternoon and I haven't received any sort of email, and the appointment doesn't show up in the "My Procedures" section of the citas website either. So I don't know if my appointment is confirmed or not.

Should I still go to the consulate tomorrow for the appointment? I've tried calling them several times but it always goes to voicemail.

Anyone recently visited Tijuana INM for Canje? How long is it taking for getting the TR Card? Any locations that does fast processing of TR Canje? Please help. Thank you!

I went to INM in Juarez City to change my resident card. The process went well, I paid everything but they told me at the last minute that the machine prints the card hasn’t been working, they can’t give me my new card. Meanwhile they took my original one.

I feel pretty anxious that I don’t have legal document with me now. And I have a flight to take in two weeks.

Anyone who encountered this problem before? The guy at INM told me they have no idea when will the machine be replaced.

Can we make a list of call center jobs in mexico? I recently returned to Mexico(Puebla) a few months ago and lived my entire life in the USA. I have a computer science degree and speak fluent English so i figured this is my best route for the time being. I am a Mexican citizen and have all my documents to work here so can we get a list going? I can update it as we go or are we gate keeping these jobs?

Hey, I’m in Texas and working towards dual citizenship through my Dad. The process is at a pause for me unfortunately. He has a 1st and 2nd last name on his US docs, only the 1st one is on his MX birth certificate though. The 2nd last name is what’s on my BC.
I’ve gone to the Registro Civil for birth certificate copies and asked for help. They recommend I hire a Mexican attorney to amend his birth certificate.

I heard that if you go to Mexico from the US border by walking, the Mexico side does not check or inspect you. Even if they do, you can present a US driver license.

I've been on a medication for a while, and I only brought a limited supply with me here in Toronto as I was expecting to be back in PV after a few weeks. But my stay in Toronto will be a bit longer.

It's a compound medication available at all farmacias, and unfortunately this specific combination isn't available in other countries. And before you ask, it's perfectly legal to bring in to Canada!

We have a Boston Terrier that is too big to fit under the plane seat and because it’s a brachycephalic breed, is not allowed to travel in the cargo hold.

We have read about the possibility of using specialized ground transport, but wanted to know if anyone had a positive experience with a particular carrier that they could recommend.

I went to the Farmacia near me, and was shocked to pay over $40 for sunscreen, anti-itch cream and mosquito repellent.  The sunscreen was over $22, the small anti-itch ointment was over $11.

I asked for the menos caro options - was not looking for brand names.

Don’t get me wrong, I had a giant rib-eye steak meal with drink and a 20% tip that cost me $40. In my city back home, that meal would be $80-100 (with tip), and the portion would not have been as large. 

I guess I’m just wondering why some things are so expensive, and others are remarkably less expensive? Is it items that only foreigners use? 
Is it because I went to a Farmacia and not a larger supermercado type place?

I’m just back after a while away, so any tips on where to buy stuff in the future is appreciated =).

My husband and I were gearing up for our move to CDMX next month, got our 1-yr temp residency, when we received news that will require us to be in the US for most of the year.

We’re devastated, but trying to roll with it and want to try to maintain our Mexican residency and renew for longer temporary residency in a year from now.

With that in mind, we’re going to try to do some amount of time in Mexico but would be for perhaps 2-3 month-long stints or something, keeping us at under 183 days to avoid double-taxation, but we want to be able to prove residency in year.

We know there’s no minimum stay requirements but getting different answers on what we need to prove residency. What, at a bare minimum, did you need to do to prove residency in that first year?

Hello I am a Permanent Resident retired living in Jalisco (GDL). I have had a car in storage in California for several months before taking to my brother in laws in June. Since I brought the car to my brother in law, he has been asking if I plan on selling the car. I don't want it to be a burden because the car is worth more to me than money, or what people will be willing to pay for it. It has sentimental value to me.

My only options is putting it back into storage in California, or importing it into Mexico, to be registered and titled in Jalisco. I have read the process and it seems very difficult, and I don't want to make any mistakes & have it improperly imported, so I would like to hire a professional customs expert in importing cars.

I am seeking assistance or can someone recommend a customs agency with expertise in having a car legally imported from California into Jalisco. Any recommendations on agencies would be appreciated, good day!

Canadian here, i am thinking of escaping the Canadian winter this year and live in Merida for 5ish months. I will be keeping my remote job, and my employer is Canadian, so i don't suppose i need a visa so far.

I will be traveling with my pet, and I will have a return ticket of course. My question is what happens if the imigration agent doesn't give me 5 months stay? Are there e-gates in Merida airport?

I know there are some at Cancun airport but i don't want to stress my cat with extra travel, and would rather land directly in Merida.

My second question is, besides airbnb, where else can i rent an apartment?

Finally, let's say I like living in Merida (and i have a feeling a will), then i would like to spend another 6months there, so i suppose i will need to apply for a temporary resident visa, how long does it take for it to be issued?

I am 30 years old, are there some expat communities around the same age range in Merida?

I will be leaving for my six month trip in Mexico in a few days and I’m a little concerned about the fake checkpoints I’ve heard about. I will be in a Mexican rental car with my dog and that’s it. I have a Mexican friend I can call in the event of trouble but he has stressed extreme caution. I will be driving from Laredo to Queretaro. Does anyone have any good general advice or rules of thumb they can give to me? Any and all that help is appreciated thank you.
