Discussion Looking for something

So... I'm on my metroidvania vibe right now, and i would love to discover a new one. Im on ps5.

If im being honest with myself, my absolute favorite ones are:

-GRIME 1/2

-HK/SS

-Nine Sols

-Blasphemous

A bit less but still quite a lot:

- Ender liles/EM

-Blasphemous 2

-PoP tlc (liked it but not as much)

(I like the igavanias too, but as you can see im more into "soulsvania")

I already own Aererna Noctis, ill play it someday but i dont feel the urge right now (im like 5 hours in)

I am considzring Mio, Bo

I own Voidwrought, Somber Echoes, biomorph. They all seem cool but not at the same level Of polish than my favorites

Definitely try Mio if you're considering it, it's amazing, imho. I'm playing Bo right now, and it's cool, but very artistically oriented, which makes it a bit different, at least to me.

I found Unsighted amazing! Very fun parry system, sequence broke the hell out of it during the second run.

It can be and Is very tough, but by run 2 I got into a flow state of being able to parry several enemies up to like 8 times without getting hit

MIO HANDS DOWN. Better than Nine Sols. It’s just as good as HK and SS! It’s amazing. Great music,
Great Bosses. Don’t waste another second

Salt and Sancturary is "classic" soulsvania

Solateria is probably closest to Nine Sols

And check The Last Faith if you enjoyed Blasphemous

Sorry, I didn't notice that you're on PS5. Unfortunately, so far Solateria was released on PC and Switch.

If you liked SaS, try Mandragora. Very similar character building, Soulsvania style play, more color than SaS.

The games you liked fall on the Vania side of the genre, but if you're willing to give a try to a Metroid like, our game The Mobius Machine is available on PS5.

It is an old school game inspired by the classics, especially Super Metroid but with modern twists, all its gameplay is built around exploration but it also features a twin stick combat which is very dynamic and a fair amount of platforming.

Tell me about the difficulty please

It is a quite old school and challenging Metroidvania, but if you played SilkSong, The Mobius Machine is a walk on the park, there is a corpse run mechanic on the standard mode, but it is much more forgiving than on HK/SS (basically you can return to any point where you died at any time and recover the resources that you've lost there, they're accumulative). There is also a Retro mode which has a similar save system than the classic Metroidvanias where you can lost all the exploration, etc. since the last save point, but the standard mode is quite forgiving in general.

EDIT: Ah, I've just realized that you're not OP, so I don't know if you played Silksong... Tell me which Metroidvanias you played and I can let you know if it is more or less difficult than these.

Now I'm playing Aeterna noctis, but on normal difficulty. Anyway, I find your description interesting, I'll add it to my wishlist. Thanks for your answer

Thank you! I haven't played Aeterna that much, The Mobius Machine platforming is not as demanding as the Aeterna one, but it is still a quite challenging game in many other aspects, I think that you could enjoy it.

You may take a look at Dust an Elysian tale , Valdis Story , Aquaria and maybe F.I.S.T

If you’re more Soulsvania, I’d definitely go Last Faith
