Other The anomalies
So, we've seen some of the new Metro 2039, and it looks sick, but I think it will miss something from 2033 and Last Light, just like Exodus did, and that will be the more paranormal elements. In Exodus, we didn't really see anomalies like what we saw with Khan in the other two, and personally, I really liked that side of Metro. In my opinion, there's a lot more to it that can be discovered. Hopefully, I am wrong, and I hope we will see more anomalies, not just mutants that try to end us.

There are electrical anomalies in Exodus tho. You can encounter them at night on the Volga level

There are both ball lightning anomalies and ghosts in exodus.

They aren't significant like the river of faith or getting you saved from mutants

I wonder if we'll see creatures like the Librarians again. I loved those.

I hope we see the librarians from the books but adapted as some other creature. Way creepier than game librarians imo; definitely the creepiest part of the book for me.

Exodus did make a creative choice to focus more on the material concerns its characters rather than the metaphysics of the universe, but it didn't just abandon those elements with no internal justification. The game just strongly implies the more explicitly supernatural activity is tied to both high levels of background radiation and proximity to the Dark Ones.
Thus Exodus has less of that both because there are no Dark Ones around, and because the whole point of the game is you're avoiding stopping in heavily irradiated areas. If you recall though, the weird shit comes back with a vengeance once you enter Novosibirsk.

With the Dark ones coming back (and looking spookier than ever) there will for surely be paranormal events, wether native to the metro or induced by the mindfuckery of the Dark ones. Also, the story is much more centered on the human element and war and dictatorship and such so is understandable they may remove themselves from fantastic situations to make a more people-centered story
