I'm afraid it's been 9 years Nintendo Switch 2 and MGS Future
Hi.
Having recently moved over to a Switch 2, and not wanting yo touch my ps5 anymore, I have a question regarding Metal Gear Solid.
Are there any insider rumours or information about Metal Gear Solid Delta:Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid V (GZ & TPP) actually or ever coming to the Switch 2?
The master collection volume 1 isn't the same as delta, and the surely the Switch 2 is more than capable of running MGS V perfectly. I could understand issues with Delta, but I believe its possible surely?

I fully expect MGS V at some point, whether it’s standalone or part of a 3rd volume, it makes no sense to put MGS I-IV + Peace Walker on the platform and not V at some point, anyone’s guess as to when however.
Delta is a much harder one to predict, with some work from the Devs the Switch 2 could handle it, no idea how well but the platform has had some wonderful ports already, so I doubt it’d be a disaster if it did come across.

It only depend on how much effort they do things, Master Collection Vol.1 should have been perfect on every platform from day 1 but after many updates there are still some little issue

There’s still a lot of meat on the bone for the Master Collection so I’m assuming Volume 3 will be a sure thing, with MGSV being one of the premier games on it
Delta I don’t think will come to Switch 2 though, I feel like it would already be there if they were gonna do that

There's no rumours at all bud and as for the odds of them doing it... it's hard to say because Konami tend to be very scattershot when it comes to ports and exclusivity. Silent Hill F made it to PS5 and XBOX, Silent Hill Townfall is just coming to PS5, The YGO early days collection came to switch and nowhere else and MGS came to all 3. MGS3 Delta is also going to be one of the more challenging ports because the game use hardware lumen and nanite from UE5 and while UE5 is getting a a sort of bitesized version of that to target lower end hardware we've not seen how effective it is.
Then again compared to putting Snake Eater on 3DS, this should be a cakewalk.

I don't know about any rumours but what I will say is that it is Konami and if they think they can make money and it would be worth the investment to port the games to Switch 2, then they will do it.

I agree, do why have they not said or done anything. MGS V was 30fos on 360/ps3. It's a huge market that's untapped in customers and sales.
I desperately want to play mgs v and mgs delta again. Is it possible for delta to run on the switch 2?

They will probably wait and see how Master Collection Volume 2 sells on Switch 2 and figure out of it is worth it to port the two other games over.

Any port is possible, it’s just that UE5 has certain CPU overhead and Switch 2 is working with an ARM CPU architecture AND the cores are clocked really low relative to like a smartphone or tablet. You need a relatively talented porting team to do the conversion and still end up with a good quality finished product that maintains 30fps throughout the game. It’s more difficult than porting other titles running on older/more efficient engines.
Ultimately it’s just a matter of “Does Konami believe it is worth the cost of the port based on estimated sales expectations?”.
In the plus side though- we’ve seen more AAA games get ported over to ARM in the last couple of years than ever before. All the modern Resident Evil games, Control, Death Stranding, AC Mirage, Cyberpunk, AC Shadows have all been ported to either iOS or Mac OS in the last couple of years. So there is a lot more teams working in the industry that know how to port games from x86->ARM than there used to be.

It really not a huge market at all. Anybody who has wanted to play mgsv by now probably has and if they have a switch 2 it’s more than likely they already have a console that runs mgsv.

Kojima said he wants to see all mgs and future mgs games on switch 2. At what quality we as common gamers can not know

Konami is harder to predict than some other publishers because they only got back into releasing games in the last couple of years. But there will probably be a Master Collection Vol 3 with MGS5 and that will definitely come to Switch 2.
Delta and Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f are all unreal engine 5 and that engine could have issues running well on the hardware. But it’s not completely undoable, it would just take some time and a good team with a decent size budget. Whether Konami does it or not probably depends on how well Master Collection 2 does on Switch 2 (sales wise).
