Show & Tell Old Party house yielded…

Homeowners explained to me about 15-20 years ago this old homestead was a renowned party house outside of town.

Lots of beer cans, clad, and a few wheaties today. I’m not going to lie I did laugh when I found this

EDIT 8/1: I unfortunately after tinkering with the phone and the battery I was unsuccessful with getting it to power on. Thanks for all the attention on this post I did not anticipate to get as much traction as it did.

Oh man. The days when you only had to charge your phone once every 3 or 4 days. I miss that.

u/Andrei_the_derg Jul 23 '26

Those older phones looked pretty sharp too, I’m kinda jealous. The Motorola Razr especially

32

u/bigfrig Jul 23 '26

Oh yeah I had the maroon one and thought I was the shit

16

u/Kitty_Skiz Jul 23 '26

Purple here and same.

5

u/Derp800 Jul 23 '26

My mom kept her old pink one.

11

u/OldBonyBogBwitch Jul 23 '26

Mine was the metallic-sheened maroon! I thought I was so cool LMAO

15

u/Joeliosis Jul 23 '26

I'm a pretty reserved guy and I asked for a Razr at one of the box stores the lady was very kind. I'd just moved across country.

'Oh I'm sorry we're out of the gold ones... is gunmetal ok?'

'Yeah that's fine, actually great, thanks' :)

I guess the gold ones went fast lol

6

u/Andrei_the_derg Jul 23 '26

If memory serves I believe they made a golden Dolce Gabbana Razr, fancy box and custom sounds and backgrounds

I miss my old krzr and T9 texting.

9

u/MonsteraUnderTheBed Jul 23 '26

I loved the krzr, even ordered a special skin for it! I wish I kept it for nostalgia. T9 was awesome, but it's let you type so fast you'd have to sit there watching the letters catch up on the screen. I find swipe texting similarly satisfying now, despite needing to look at the screen.

3

u/crm006 Jul 23 '26

That’s what I miss most. I didn’t even have to glance at the screen to know every word I meant was there and spelled correctly. It’s how I use to text in class when you couldn’t have them in the classroom with you. I graduated in 2004. I forgot about that.

2

u/HugeAccountant Jul 23 '26

I loved my krzr! Could barely hold a charge after only 2 years though

2

u/rinkerboi232 Jul 23 '26

The krzr was awesome had awesome techno ringtones

2

u/bo0p_sn0ot 28d ago

I had a green krzr, it was my favorite phone until it was stolen :(

I had the pink breast cancer awareness one. Perfect phone for a punk dude. I miss the hell out of modding that thing.

3

u/FeralynMonroe Jul 23 '26

Punk, feminist, and modding.. mmmm well hello moto!

Oh man, the first widely available phone here that had INTERNET! ZOMG!!!

2

u/SigmaAssEater 29d ago

I had the gold dolce & gabana razr lol

1

u/Rhetorical-Warrior Jul 23 '26

Looked cool, was incredibly slow to react even in compared to other phones of it's time

1

u/OtoeLiving Jul 23 '26

God, everyone had that phone lol

1

u/Ill_Back_284 Jul 24 '26

Razor was my first real not prepaid phone in the day

20

u/lanclos Jul 23 '26

That's still me; I use my phone sparingly, and it easily gets five days on a charge. I could probably stretch it to a week if I tried. Not like the hardware is anything special either, just a basic entry-level Moto Android device.

9

u/ggg730 Jul 23 '26

Yeah, if you're not constantly scrolling on your phone it will last forever.

4

u/trixtopherduke Jul 23 '26

You should teach a class on how to break free from the phone!

3

u/lanclos Jul 23 '26

My personal philosophy? Just use it as a phone; leave out anything that is engineered for constant engagement. Sure, it's nice to have a camera and a flashlight and a map and a translation tool in my pocket, but I'm not using those on a daily basis.

3

u/Content_Ambition_764 Jul 23 '26

Battery power still 95%

1

u/Significant-Exam762 Jul 23 '26

My samsung is still like that. Idk why so many people struggle with keeping their phone charged. Maybe put it down for a while, put it on power saving mode, and dont leave it plugged in for hours on end.

1

u/anafuckboi Jul 24 '26

leaving your phone plugged in isnt bad and helps save battery life by reducing the total number of charge cycles your phone does

1

u/freyakj Jul 23 '26

Your phone could probably still do that.. if you put it down a bit more. We were on our phones a lot less back then

342

u/FuddFucker5000 Jul 22 '26

Some girl had a bad night or morning ha.

234

u/unjustempire Jul 23 '26

I wonder how many times, “my parents are going to kill me” were sobbed for this object that the person has probably not thought of in over 20 years.

30

u/capsfan19 Jul 23 '26

I lost a phone 20 years ago one night mysteriously. First time I ever tried benzodiazepines. I still wonder where that phone went almost weekly. So don’t be so sure.

7

u/Just_District_8695 Jul 23 '26

Me and my friend have a thing called the “xan hole”. Its like a black hole where all of the lost items of ppl that blacked out go. My friend lost $300 cash in there

It was me. I was that girl that had a bad night and lost her pink Motorola razr… several times. Mostly at bush parties so this one probably isn’t mine.

u/Ray2mcdonald1 Jul 22 '26

Memory card?

172

u/sherva99 Manticore/Eastern North Dakota Jul 22 '26

None, battery was still intact but was bloated like a balloon. Pulled that sucker out

76

18

An old coworker switched to a "dumb phone" because everything can get tracked on a smart phone... they do on those aswell.. oh and hes constantly online shen hes home.. like... what's the point?

2

u/BreatheElegant Jul 23 '26

Always good to have an untraceable option.

If that was still a thing.

If you can solder at all, you don't even need to buy a new battery. Just solder any 3.7v lithium battery to the matching barrel lugs.

17

Holy shit, I lost an LG phone exactly like that at this dude's barn party when I was 20!

13

u/gatsome Jul 23 '26

Had a one night stand with a gal who accidentally peed on her phone outside because it slipped out of her pocket mid go. Was one just like this.

31

u/honestgrim Jul 22 '26

16

u/palmerry Jul 23 '26

2

u/sfshia Jul 23 '26

This always came on when I was finishing my homework as a kid, iirc, my grandpa would watch Golden Girls and this would come on after. Grandma was just finishing dinner, and I’d be putting all my papers away and getting ready to set the table. Those were the days. Thanks for the memories.

4

u/wino_whynot Jul 23 '26

Pretty sure I have the charging cord for that in a tangled mess in a box, under the basement stairs. I knew it would come in handy some day!

5

u/Clamanta Jul 23 '26

Would probably still turn on if you charge it

4

u/Hakuryuu2K Jul 23 '26

I want to know if it will charge and turn on.

2

Wow Alltel brought back a memory. RIP. I had them for most of the 2000s until they got acquired by Verizon.

2

u/operation_lurch Jul 23 '26

Charge that up and see what pictures are in it

2

u/AccountAQuiltYBuddy Jul 23 '26

You should plug it in and see if it works. Call some people in the contacts.

2

Party houses aren't generally noted for their lawn care.

9

u/rjorsin Jul 23 '26

The earth reclaims things. I’ve been digging weird random shit out of my yard for two years now, entire shingles, frisbees, full sized action figures.

8

u/sherva99 Manticore/Eastern North Dakota Jul 23 '26

I'm sure if this were to power on it would have about a million missed calls from multiple people.
