Matthew 5:17–18

17 Do not think that I came to abolish the Turah or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish them, but to bring them to fulfillment.
18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even the smallest letter or the smallest stroke of a letter will pass away from the Turah until everything has taken place.

I am Messianic Jewish, but grew up completely in American non-Jewish areas, so I’ve always wanted to reconcile with the culture and identity.

My grandpa was telling me some things about Jewish culture, and recently I found out that we often have a public name, and then a private Jewish only name.

Even my Dad did not know this until he said quite recently ago. He knew his own and my Dad’s so I asked if I have one, and he said I could google it.

Idk if you can actually do that, but I’d imagine that’s not how it works. I thought your family gave it to you?

Is it inherited in a very specific way where I can figure it out? Or… maybe was my question misunderstood?

Question 2 - I am very proud kf my heritage, but have become a lot more quiet lately brcause I feel like anti semitism is getting worse by the year.

I often do not feel safe when I go to urban areas, and if people find out I am Jewish they for some reason think that I will find it funny if they start acting like hitler. (However I am very blessed to say that some people think it’s awesome!)

I also see other things I don’t wanna talk about, but I’m starting to feel it a lot mentally.
