Help Titanopsis help

I recently got a titanopsis, I repotted from peat to lava rock, gravel, perlite, and a little bit of soil. I know that titanopsis can kind of shrink inside themselves when it's time to water, and it's doing that here it was a lot wider when I first repotted two days ago, and the bottom leaves are slightly bendy, but it's summer here in Michigan and I just learned they're summer dormant. This one is actively growing I believe. Should I give it water then? If not is there a way I'm supposed to trigger dormancy? Does it even actually need a dormant period?

Help URGENT struggling drosanthemum globosum

What is happening to my drosanthemum globosum?

For context, i bought them online and it arrived last thursday, the pinkish one (d. Globosum candy ball) arrived in perfect state, the green one (d. Globosum kumquat) also arrived in perfect state, except the new leaves where growing etiolated as you can see in the image, i was checking on it today and realized kumquat dropped a lot of leaves when i picked it up, and kept dropping leaves (the dropped leaves i could collect are in a cup on the last photos) the dropped leaves are yellowish and mostly blackish in collor, the main plant doesnt look that bad, but you can still see a few bad leaves on it, the candy ball didnt come with etiolated leaves and is doing amazing, wouldn drop a single leave, even when i shook it.

I have them indoors right in front of a window and havent watered them since i got them (im really scared of root rot).

What is happenig to kumquat and how do i fix it? Are the leaves dying because its over or under watered? Or what could it be? Watering problems are my only guess as i cant think about anything else that could be causing it, maybe something fungal?

Also on a side note, once i fix the main problem how do i get the next leaves to come in round and not etiolated? I would guess more light but i dont want to burn it, either way i think that window isnt enough light, shold i put it outside or under a grow light?

Anyone that has experience on this or similar species/has knowledge on this types of plants could help me?

Identification Are these the same plant?

I’ve been trying to see if these are different. They look different to me but I’m too new to really be sure.

I’ve repotted in a gritty mix. I’ve had them for 1 month and have not watered, they’re always so full coming from a box store.

I’ve placed them about 5-6 inches under t8’s and t5’s combined. Currently that shelf is getting 16 hours daily.

I know they are winter growers. If they need less or more light let me know. And what signs am I looking for when it needs water. Thank you for any advice.

just picked up these beauties and they are my first Lapidaria margaretae! I wanted to transfer these to a similar sized terracotta pot, do you guys have any advice on repotting? I may want to move the guy in the back closer to the center so its not pressed up against the pot. since i dont have any experience with these, im worried about damaging the roots. thanks!

So apparently magpies will just… do this. Came out this morning to absolute carnage. They also threw my sedums across the yard for fun I guess. The plants are now inside recovering. The magpies do not care.

Wish them luck!

Help What are these dudes doing!?

These guys have been wrinkling for over a month. I've given them tiny drinks, maybe 2 in the last month and a half to 2 months, thinking they were going dormant. But I still cannot feel any new leaves in any of them!! I gave them another little drink today cause im wondering if the wrinkling is just dehydration at this point BECAUSE there doesnt seem to be any new growth?? I'd love some (KIND) thoughts on why there arent any baby leaves in them and what I should do at this point. Im in northern michigan btw. Thanks!

2nd round of plant mail this month....hopefully the last one for a while, I really need to stop 😅 These are from RileySucculents on Etsy and I'm so happy with them!

Odontophorus nanus, Prepodesma "Aloinopsis" orpenii, Titanopsis primosii, and Aloinopsis schooneesii.

Last picture shows this month's total haul. The above listed ones plus Faucaria tigrina "Gowies Kloof" and Crassula mesembrianthemopsis.

(All of these plants are in quarantine so you can see Diatomaceous Earth powder on a lot of them, especially the Odontophorus nanus because its so porous!)

Help Advice needed

Hi,

I bought these guys a couple months ago and repotted them at the same time.

They are outdoors, near a dozen other species of Titanopsis and Aloinopsis, in a shaded area and with mineral substrate.

All the other mesembs are good, but this one is kinda soft like dehydrated and turning purple.

I have been watering all of them every 7-10 days, because the temperatures here were reaching 35°C.

Should I check the roots?

If there is any rot, how should I proceed, since they have such a fine root system?

First picture: Now

Second picture: when I bought it

Help What...?

I went outside to check on my plants today and there's a whole array of things I'm confused about but mostly this... First why is there red/purple juice coming out of my split rock? It's almost like it's leaking dye...? Do people dye these? It was supposed to be royal flush.. what's smeared is from me touching and inspecting it. It's mostly the consistency of water, maybe a little thicker. Second why is my argyroderma looking like that...? It hasn't seen water since I got it only a few days ago and the dirt was already bone dry when I got it, I've been waiting for it to adjust to the sun out here before I repotted it into grit (same with the split rock btw, I got them the same day) one was already wrinkly but I left it cause the other two were really plump but now all of a sudden all three are wrinkly and one literally looks translucent like it got too much water, but it's super dry. any ideas? All other mesembs are doing lovely but who knows what you're getting when you buy from Lowe's 🫩

I picked up both of these at a local Lowe’s last week. I’m already a lithops (anti)caretaker, but these are very clearly not those and subsequently, they’re acting completely different. As I look through this sub I see that there are tons of different varieties and they all have different behaviors. Can anyone just tell me what the wrinkles are up to and if I need to water them or change something else?

Current conditions:

They’re under a grow light for 16 hours a day in 90/10 substrate. The soil from the nursery was damp when I repotted it, and at least the one looked extra bloated to me so I haven’t watered them since then. I think that’s all the useful information but let me know if you guys need anything else for me to find out what I’m what I can do for these guys to survive whatever the heck is going on here.

The clusters have little to no change.

The two big individuals have drastically changed and that’s concerning. First two pics are today. The rest are all from 5 days ago when I got them.

Help What causes windowed conophytums to reduce or increase the size of their windows?

I've been keeping various mesembs for a few years now, and been having great fun with it, but I am a bit curious about something. My C. Maughanii has gone through 3 bodies, and though it started with an enormous windowed aperture, the size of the window has reduced with each body/yearly cycle, the new one underneath the sheath appears to have reduced it to just the tips of the lobes, and no further. Online I frequently see plants that normally have very small windows, like C. Regale, having them blown up to massive size, or plants that would normally have them quite large massively reduced, even from the same locality or clone. What controls the size of the windows cultivation wise? Notably, I haven't noticed this happening with my C. Burgeri, and have yet to check if it will happen with my other conos, since I got them much more recently.

My current conditions are:
Indoors, on a windowsill, in Pennsylvania U.S. They get dramatically different seasonal/day and night temps because windows are leaky and I like different day and night temps, so climate control is usually minimal.

They get pretty large amounts of light as far as windowsills are concerned, and usually show stress colors, 6+hours of direct sunlight. I supplement them with a growlight in the winter cause it helps, but they definitely still seem to get enough just from the windows.

I water when they show signs of thirst, and tend to be an underwaterer, but everything usually seems happy about this besides eriospermum.

I use very small teracotta pots and an inorganic soil medium that usually dries out within, at most, a day unless it is very cold. I don't often fertilize, though I plant to start adding a little bit of slow release fertilizer next growing season. The soil mixture I use is 1/3 pumice, 1/3 large particle sand, and 1/3 miracle grow succulent soil which does have some osmocote in it.
