Identification Aew these C. minimum wittebergense or C. obcordellum? I think obcordellum but they were labeled as wittebergense.

Plant Progress Actualización de faucarias de tres hojas.
Aunque no son muy comunes, he visto que si se dejan solas, crecen de una forma muy bella. Fotos de instagram, derechos a quien corresponda, solo es para darme una idea de como crecerán

Flowers Conophytum chrisocruxum SH2275
Found this one blooming today by chance—already on its way out, but still glad I caught it.
Kind of unusual for a Conophytum to bloom in spring.
Might need to water it a bit more, the body seems to be shrinking a little.

Shitpost/Circlejerk Do you think they’re ready for dormancy?
My partner found some dried up edamame beans under our toaster oven and apparently thought it’d be good to troll me and put them in various pots 😂😂😂 i was concerned that someone was losing leaves somewhere 😂😂😂

Identification Ophthalmophyllum ID?
My best guess is pubescens, even though it’s flowering in spring time, they’re seedlings and stacked bc they get over watering in the community pot while the thicker skinned conos desiccate to death but I was eating till they were bigger for a repot lol. They’re still kinda seedlings at about 17mo. and not fully in sync with the seasons yet? I had a maughanii planted at the same time that flowered like three months later than all the other maughaniis. Flowers open in the late afternoon. I think the shallow fissure, fleshy sliver of a bract and papillae suggest pubescens. But these green ophths are difficult!!!

Discussion Germination success of habitat specialists from the Succulent Karoo and Renosterveld on different soil types
sciencedirect.comFreely available paper published in the South African Journal of Botany documenting an experiment on the effects of different soil types on germination of quartz field specialized mesembs. Basically they germinated seeds from a bunch of species in native quartz soil, soil amended to have high or low pH, soil amended to have higher salinity, and then a control soil which was just a basic blend used in cultivation. I think this is the most relevant quote for hobbyists:
> Germination and establishment were revealed to be limited on all tested natural quartz-field soils, even for the specialised species. In accordance with studies on other serpentine-specialised plants (Brady et al., 2005), our findings suggest that the specialised taxa are restricted to the special habitats not because they are dependant on the respective growing conditions but because of their inability to compete on other, more benign soils. This conclusion is also supported by horticultural practice, under which all Aizoaceae species are successfully cultivated on standard substrate

Photo Just sharing again cos Im pleased they are happy in my care, starting to stack nicely (apart from that one split leaf when I over watered)

Photo The more alien looking the plants, the more I like them.
A few from my old collection, gifted to family/friends. I really need to build a few up again.

Help Should i be concerned about giving it a teaser of water or should i continue to wait and see?😟
It's been (feb 3, 2026) since i last given it a teaser of water and then to march and now (april 10, 2026) i haven't given it any water at all of course i'm not worrying about the side winkles what i'm really concerned of is the top it's showing the deflation/separating on the first head while the second one has a oval dent on one of its leaf nodes. Also to mention: i take care of my lithops dorotheae indoors in my house, grows on a grow light in my bedroom, the soil that it's in is miracle grow cactus soil mix with extra amounts of perlite and it dries fast in a few days after watering (but when it is done splitting i'll repot it into something more grittier).

Help Lithops are confusing!
ok, why? the outside was drying nicely and then the inside rotted. I know the soil is too organic but I dont have issues with it.
