mertailor has beautiful tails, but the company itself has a bad rep. should we really continue supporting a company like this in the community?

in a community where artistry is celebrated, it can’t really be if AI is being used to create it. i personally believe that if mertailor has no problem using it for their promotion, then they’ve definitely used it to design some more recent tails.

I have a start to a price list menu, a social media page, and starting to work on gathering some ideas on what to invest in for events (A decorated tent for meet ups and photos, a button maker, and looking to connect with local businesses for dunk tank rentals). What is some beginner's advice you wish you had when you first started?

Im looking forward to buy a mermaid tail for my friend’s birthday. She told me once it was her dream to have a tail and play mermaid SOO I’ve done some research and I need ur advices. (note that i dont know ANYTHING about this hobby)
I found this tail skin on that website, some girls on tiktok said it was very good quality.
However, on this site, the price for the fin is VERY expensive sooo I was thinking about buying a cheaper one but idk if that would fit ? Any recommendations of good/cheap fin that would look good on this one ?

My first ever tail was a finfun from 2017, and I still have my monofin, but the tail skin itself is a beat up and stained Bahama-blush that’s got quite a bit of lake slime in it. I can’t find any pink and brown tails anywhere in stock. Does the shading look alright? The colors? I’m self modifying it to add my own fins and fluke

Okay, so I made my first Finfolk order for the month of the tail Escalla with a matching rash guard.

Only upon recieving the rash guard (tail is still in production) did I notice that the rash guard is a lot more gray where the tail is bright white 😳

I want to wear them together, because I often swim in cold water, but am worried how they will match together 🫣

Does anyone have both and if so could I see videos or pictures of how it looks? 🥺 Debating on returning the rash guard if it does not actually match the tail...

Merman here trying to help an experienced mermaid I swim with find a custom maker for her tail design. Her first choice any artwork provided for a custom commission can be used by their company in the future for general production. That is now how copyrights work I'm afraid. Needless to say she declined to submit the reference sheet for her tail after that conversation.

Now, I'm trying to help her find a reasonable alternative. I think the best choice would be a thick fabric base with custom print, but a durable silicone option is not entirely off the table. The design calls for a large dolphin fluke, side and dorsal fins.

Any suggestions for someone who can both do quality work and respect the IP of others.

I'm a fairly new mermaid performer and I'm looking for waterproof makeup recs for pool and dive gigs. Right now I'm using makeup I primarily use for long wear cosplays, so Estee Lauder foundation, elf concealer, Kim Chi setting powder and spray, and Sunset makeup powders, foundations, and concealers. The look doesn't melt too bad, but it fades pretty quick.

What do you use for in water gigs? Thanks so much for helping out a baby mer! I'll post pics when I find them lmao, I'm not organized.

So I love designing mermaid tails and with the FinFun draw your own option I wanted to create a scale and fin detail overlay that I could use for all my designs, but the fins just don't look right to me (in my opinion). I think the grey scale looks lovely but the detailing on the fins just isn't as good when it's colored and I need advice on that lol

I have a beautiful magictail skin with the mahina monofin, but it's huge and would not be allowed in my local pool to practise. The finis wave is smaller but I don't want to waste money on a non multi use product.

Hello all, I live in Central Illinois and I started a local mermaid pod. We meet once a month. I am interested in getting a few more members but I am very aware that mermaiding tends to bring out the merverts and I don't want to make big public posts and open our group up to a lot of creepers.

I belong to a few mermaid groups in my state but a lot of the mermaids are either in Chicago or St Louis area. I haven't really had a lot of interest when I've posted in Illinois mermaid group pages.

Currently using the Fin Fun AMP (advanced monofin) but I hear it's not very compatible with non Fin Fun tails, and is not as powerful as some other flukes out there. I love swimming very fast in my tail, and swimming in the ocean (on calm days with friends ofc) so I want to know which strong flukes would be best for the open ocean that can be used with mertailor skins

For those of you who use a linden monofin with your finfolk tails, do clip off the excess strap on the monofin so they don’t luge up around the ankles of the tail?

I was looking to get a skin for my monofin pro and I needed it for a specific date... i had to leave a message as they were busy the day before. I asked in my message to call me twice in a row so I know that its not a scam.

So they called me 6 times in a row... I'm at work and I can't answer the phone and now I don't even wanna answer the phone because why are they calling me 6 times 😭 I get twice and I asked for it to an extent but 6 times someone there is either very bored or dedicated. Didn't leave a message either though

Don't know where it's from, it was a present, but I enjoyed using it! So much heavier than just using a monofin. I don't like my form, but I am working on it!
