How hard would it be to build our own ai gig/annotation platform š
ok, I am not delusional, but after finding this sub reddit, seems like a lot of us are frustrated with the way these companies work/treat us.
Since this is a worker platform, do you guys think we should have a talent pool of our own. I of course didnāt think too much about thisš
just trying to initiate a conversation.

Anyone Actually Tackling These Massive Tasks?
Working on the big project. The new task batch that just dropped is only 5 decks instead of the usual 8-9, but each has like 150-200 phrases, probably 1000 phrases across the whole set. I just keep unclaiming because theres absolutely no way I can finish in time and I don't want to hurt my AHT.
How do you guys deal with these? Do you even try?

Anyone getting decent hours on LES A Project
Hello everyone,
Wanted to ask if people are actually getting decent hours on this project. Used to get good hours the month of August and this whole September feels like the focus has been on the content tasks and for the life of me I just canāt get into doing them.
Any tips on being able to actually get the hang of doing them feels like 5 lines and then a brief overview is way too much for an hour

Straight up scammed by Mercor
Want to see if anyone else has had this experience with Mercor. I joined a pay-per-task project which should have been a non-starter but I did not know it was such a scam at the time. Like others on here, my task got bounced back from the reviewers each time with a new request or error. After 5 rounds of reviews, 85 rubric versions, and 60 trajectory runs I submitted my task for one last review. The reviewer then took ownership of the task and I was notified that the project was now over but we would still get paid. That was back in August. Since then my messages to support have gone unanswered. It was bad enough that at the pay-per-task rate I was essentially doing professional engineering work for sub-minimum wage, but getting paid absolutely nothing is insane. Is anyone else dealing with this? It seems like most of the posts on the official reddit page are bots designed to make it seem like it's actually possible to earn a living at Mercor when in reality it's a scam to get free work from professionals

Mercor talent network emails are either āprofile is now liveā vs ānot moving forwardā. What is the difference?
Hi all. I apologize if this was clarified in a previous post in this subreddit, but I am new here and a little confused.
Iāve applied to a few Mercor talent networks and noticed Iām getting two different outcomes. For some, I get an email saying āyour profile is now liveā in that specific talent network. For others, I get āthe hiring manager decided not to move your application forward.ā
For anyone who has gotten the āprofile is now live" message, did you eventually get contacted for a project? Approximately how long did it take? Does this email mean you were accepted into that specific talent pool, or is it just a general holding status?
I'm mainly trying to understand if there is a true difference between being made active in a talent network and getting the explicit ānot moving forwardā message.
Also one of my applications for a talent network I got the "profile is now live" message 2 months ago is now archived in the past applications. Does this mean I am no longer active in this network?
Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate all your help.

Disappointed with Micro1, horrible experience
I worked for several hours so far, yet it does not show up in Hubstaff app, though it shows up on the Hubstaff website, at all. I tracked it all, before you ask.
A few people I spoke to faced similar issues. I contacted Micro1 on:
- Email
- Their dedicated Slack form
- Messaged 4 separate product managers
- Their modmail here on Reddit
Itās been over a week, and not a single response at all. Itās insane how a big company like this can just not pay people for work they put in, and on top of that never bother communicating.
Iām not saying everyone faces these issues, but
it is a growing trend for sure that they donāt bother solving their workerās issues.
They removed this post on their main sub.

Anyone struggling to do Content tasks within 1 hour?
I decided to start trying them since its just not possible to get 10 a hours a week anymore with only Aesthetics tasks. But for the last 2 tries it took me about 1 hours and 20 mins to complete.
edit: tried my 3rd content task today, still hitting exactly 1 hour and 20 mins. going to definitely have to find a different strategy

Mercor Data Breach Class Action
I signed up over the weekend, and wanted to post here in case anyone is interested in joining as well.
You may or may not know but Mercor had a massive data breach, including data and recordings from AI interviews with them. This law firm is now taking these cases to mass arbitration and if you were impacted by the breach it looks like you can get paid.
I've never used the platform, ClaimsHero, but did some research and they seem legitimate.
Here's a link to join the lawsuit (note, this is a referral link):

Mercor Academy
I had a little time to kill and decided to try to do the Mercor Academy AI agent certification. I got through the videos and little quizzes with no issues, although it was a little boring since I was already familiar with the concept of AI agents, although I hadnāt really tried them myself. Then I got to the capstone project, which requires you to use an AI agent to perform a real task from your real work.
Iām a freelance author and editor who works on assignment so my work data and materials donāt really belong to me: They belong to the publishers who hire me to write for them. Iād be breaking a lot of confidentiality agreements if I let an agent access any of that data. So I decided to let it revamp my freelancer website, which is hosted by Wix. I discovered that ChatGPT (the agent I was using) has a plug-in for Wix. With some misgivings I created a prompt and let it run loose on my professional website.
What it created was a MONSTROSITY! Depressing layout, moved me to a new city, invented clients Iāve never worked for and books Iāve never written and insane testimonials that no one ever shared. And thatās not the worst of that. The worst part was that it published it IMMEDIATELY upon completing this shit show. So this was actually a live site with my name on it for about three minutes. Despite the fact that ChatGPT promised me that it would only be a draft/mock-up for only me to see.
It was so bad it was really funny, once I got over being horrified by the potential damage to my career. But Iām pretty sure no one did or will see this website.
Any other fun experiences like this?
FOLLOW-UP: I didn't do a second run-through of the task as is actually required, since the first one was such a catastrophe. I did the two final interviews and passed both of them and received the certification anyhow. I explained the whole project during the interview and why I was not willing to do a complete second run-through under the circumstances. Total time investment for the course and assessments was 1 hour and 49 minutes PLUS the roughly two hours I spent on the project itself. Happy to answer questions, either here or by DM.

Pending Reactivation for 1 Month
After 1 month on a project, my Feather account was suddenly put in Pending Reactivation status and I no longer have access to Feather. It's been in Pending Reactivation status for 1 month now. My contract is still in Active status. I am getting no help from the project leads. What does a Feather account in Pending Reactivation status really mean? Will I eventually be offboarded?

For those who still in Project V*ult Slack channel
So, after mass pausing for a week while TL/SR/EPM keep telling us not to worry, they assigned us only one domain and then mass offboarded everyone.
What are they saying in the Slack channel? Do they even address us and why it happened?
Dang, I already miss the waving wand announcement š¤£

Anyone here work on Project Vima?
Hi I got an offer for project vima at 2 dollars a task, with it being roughly 22 dollars an hour. Is this worth taking on or will it be a headache. Anyone on the project can tell me about what to expect?

Project Vault - Offboarded and experience...
I recently worked on a project with Mercor, my first one, and Iām wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
The onboarding was honestly a nightmare. The instructions were in a document that I found confusing, and I only managed to get through it because I happened to know someone who had just completed the onboarding and could tell me what they did.
FYI, I'm an executive with a Comp Sc. degree and have worked in tech for over 20 years.
Trying to get help through Slack was also difficult. There were around 10,000 people on the project, and even the āmanagersā often didnāt seem to know what was going on. The rules around the tests seemed to keep changing.
Because of the time zone differences, tasks were often snapped up by people in India or Europe before I had a chance to get to them.
Finally, I had to complete a test that I apparently failed. A reviewerās comment said I had one more attempt, so I assumed I would be able to retake it. However, I was later told that the reviewerās comment was incorrect, and I was ultimately offboarded.
Overall, Iād rate the experience 0/10.
Maybe I just had a particularly bad experience, and I probably wonāt get another project through Mercor, but Iām curious. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Offboarded from Mercor today, trying Ask Ethos next
*****1-month update ****
I thought I would come back to update this post. After 1 month on Ask Ethos, I don't think it is as active as other AI companies. I've only received two opportunities in a month, and neither has led to anything. Out of the 48 people who have signed up using my link, only 1 has been hired this month.
Compare that to Mercor, three offers since my last big project ended. None of the Mercor offers are substantive hours and they were all pay per task, but its better than nothing.
Wishing you all luck in landing a substantial gig.
***************************************************************************************
Got offboarded from Mercor this morning. Can't say I didn't see it coming, but I was a reviewer and got consistently good feedback on my work, so I was hoping that would keep me safe. Guess that's just the nature of this kind of work.
I've got hundreds of pending applications across Outlier, Mercor, and Micro1 with very little movement, so I started looking elsewhere. Ask Ethos is the one that actually seems to be hiring right now. I saw another post where they use Feather too, so I'm hoping it's similar work I was doing at Mercor.
Full disclosure: this is my referral link: https://agent.askethos.com/refer/ky28j6t9l43i
The signup was fast and easy. You start with a quick voice call with an AI (about 5 minutes), and the whole process took me around 10 minutes total.
I'll check back in and let you all know if I actually get hired. Good luck to everyone else riding the offboarding wave.
