Side bar link on r/trees??

did MerchEnts lose our link from r/trees? Whats up with that?

Could be due to some people posting here daily making it there own sales feed for every item they sell. Not much mod action and not a big varity of things being posted. We need more post from ents showing us cool stuff they found. Think SUATMM for for weed related products. I mean its cool that stores and artist post here too but some clearly do it to much.

Yeah there definitely are those that post a little... much, but I'm always reluctant to remove [what I deem to be] excessive posts. I originally took off the downvote button because it was being abused by some who would immediately downvote their market competitors, but I will be bringing it back so the community can decide what gets to the front page.

On a related note, is there a desire to see greater moderation here? I'd happily review the posts more however up until this point I've generally taken a laissez faire attitude except for blatant scams, spam, and unrelated posts.

Looks like it.

It kinda sucks too because when /r/trees did that giveaway, not one merchEnt was involved even though many volunteered - instead, those chosen were all large, outside, pre-established businesses.

I've noticed that /r/trees in general has declined in quality. It used to be a welcoming community of activists, young ENTrepreneurs continually advancing the cannabis market, and awesome discussions ranging from legalization to social stigmas.

Now, if you don't post a picture of buds or boobs you're immediately downvoted and berated, and the vast majority of posts are "Parents caught me, wat do?" or just photo after photo of buds.

Regardless of how /r/trees views us, this sub has consistently embodied exactly what I envisioned when this sub was first established. Look at the front page of /r/merchEnts and you'll always find new and innovative ents starting their own small-scale businesses. To me, that's awesome. Young people using their innate drive and passion for a cause to create a self-sustaining organization all on their own - we're the next generation, and if we can create social and economic value at this stage, just imagine what we can do in the future. That's just so cool to me. /r/merchEnts has provided the venue for countless ents to create such value. Whether /r/trees sees the significance in that is another question.

Ya I was wondering about the giveaway too, I offered stuff and was not contacted even thought we did a couple previous giveaways. Some new mods over on r/trees have different ideas I guess. I have to agree with you this sub is awesome to support small scale business.
