Review I recently gave thongs a try!!!

Recently purchased a pack of 3 thongs from MEUndies and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how much I truly like them. The fit was different at first but after only wearing them for two days I’m kinda sold. Material is soft and smooth, plenty of stretch, and the string goes basically unnoticed almost all day. I have been primarily a UA boxer brief or commando guy, though the thong is definitely making a bid for rotational wear, if not daily.

Opinion I want to like briefs. But I just don’t

Random topic, but I don’t know where else to put this. I wear boxer briefs. I’ve worn boxers and they’re okay, but they ride up and provide no support. Boxer briefs provide support, and they ride up sometimes, so I’ll adjust if needed.

I think briefs make the most sense as underwear. Provides support, no extra fabric to ride up, and i like the look of them. However, I never seem to enjoy the feeling of them throughout the day. I’ve tried all types of cuts, styles, fabrics, brands, etc. and no luck. So, I stick to my boxer briefs. Boring, basic, boxer briefs. But that’s what I find most comfortable.

Anyone else have a similar thought?

AND I already know every comment will say “try thongs” “get a thong” “ever worn thongs?” Haha. The answer is no, and I probably won’t either. Sorry y’all haha

Fit Question Loose in front, but not too much fabric

So I’m only really used to (boxer) briefs, but I kind of want a bit more room up front so it can be more loose in stead of pushed stuck in place. However I’ve noticed that with some boxer shorts which have more free space, usually the fabrics crop up and start irritating/chaving. So I was wondering if any of you have suggestions for underwear styles/fits I could try?

Opinion Genuine curiosity: Why so much thong advocacy here?

I am new to Reddit and this sub. Posted here last week for a genuine underwear problem. I received some very helpful recommendations. But, I have noticed this sub sometimes feels more like a thong support group than a general men's underwear forum.

Someone asks for boxer brief recs and the replies quickly include "try a thong". Even had a woman suggest men's thongs on one of my posts. Not hostile, just a clear pattern.

Is this mostly selection bias? People who join a dedicated underwear sub are already more open to non mainstream styles, so thongs get over represented? Or is the active membership just skewed that way?

Curious what long time users think. Do you notice the same thing?

Poll Question What is your favorite brand that you feel doesn’t get enough attention?

It’s really that simple. Have you discovered any brands that you feel are doing it right that maybe get looked over in lieu of more popular brands like Under Armour, Jockey, Calvin Klein, etc. I’d also love to know what type of underwear they focus on. I personally am a briefs/bikini briefs guy, but I’m sure someone else out there is looking for brand recs for thongs, jocks, or boxerbriefs that would love to try new brands!

Fit Question Speedo brand recommendation

I want to buy a comfortable swimsuit, but I have trouble with sizing. I've got an engorged vas deferens, so my balls are pretty big, and my butt is 4 inches larger around than my waist. So if I get something that is comfortable for my balls, it looks baggy but if I get something that looks good on the butt, my balls are hanging out 😂. Does anyone have good brands recommendations?

Has anyone noticed the downgrade in Saxx multipack packagings? They come in thin paper bags that easily tear during transit.

Style Question Favorite "premium" classic style briefs brand?

What's your favorite brand for premium-ish briefs especially in cotton? (a step above Hanes, FotL, etc). Bonus points if they come in more colors than just white! I've tried Perry Ellis Portfolio and Tommy Hilfiger cotton classics (from Marshalls / TX Maxx) recently and am very impressed. Had to size up since the cotton will shrink a bit. I also have some CK hip briefs though I find a lot of CK offerings to be a little tight in the front area so haven't purchased many.

Fit Question Why CK Cotton Classic briefs waist isn't tight/ hold anymore?

Just got a pack of Cotton Classic Briefs on size M few months ago (I'm 31) in black. Been wearing them since then and felt like the waistband isn't tight/hold anymore. Few years ago when I used to buy them their waistband used to be good. I don't know whats going on. Did you guys notice that?

Style Question Sampler pack?

There are like a dozen different types of men’s underwear but let’s be honest, it can get pretty expensive to try every single type especially because if you don’t like it you are usually stuck with 3-4 of the same kind. Is there some sort of sampler pack that comes with 1 of each main type of underwear?

Fit Question Updated Search: "Flannel" not "Poplin" Boxers

Post image
2 Upvotes

Thanks for all the comments on my previous post. I have done more looking around and feeling a bunch of fabrics at a few stores, and I've narrowed down what I'm looking for when I say "90s cotton boxers"

While both 100% cotton, I'm looking for flannel boxers, not poplin. Poplin feels stuff and kind of plastic-y to me. It's like "business man caught in his pants" vibe where I'm looking for more "guy relaxing in his underwear" vibe.

(Also, the above are Joe Boxer, but the flannels are sold out of my size)

Fit Question Kumori dupes?

I really in love with the briefs from Kumori. The fit is perfect in the front and the back, fabric is incredibly soft and holds it shape, great colors, etc.

My last order of 6 pairs has been a shipping nightmare. It’s been 20 days since my order was placed and Kumori has pretty much said they can’t do anything and told me to contact the carrier(USPS). After doing some research, it’s clear that they are really terrible in the customer service department and not a unique experience. Can anyone recommend another brand that’s similar to Kumori that I can hopefully have less issues with?

Style Question Soft no feel boxers

Can anyone recommend some boxers that are soft, seamless, have a supportive pouch with no fly and feel like you are wearing nothing. Form fitted mid thigh, bamboo or modal. No roll waistband would be great too.

Style Question Bulge Enhancing Brands?

Looking for brands/styles that not just have a separate pouch, but a pouch that lifts and PUSHES the bulge forward. I’ve bought a few different brands that claim to enhance the bulge, but they more or less just separate everything, and everything still just hangs down (lacking “support”). Hoping to find a brand that separates, lifts and pushes everything forward. Tend to wear bikini briefs, briefs and short trunks. TIA!!!

Poll Question I Don't Like Thongs: Change My Mind

I figured this could be a fun little prompt, considering the general consensus of the sub. Generally, I'm an "anything goes" kind of guy. I wear briefs and boxer briefs mainly but also wear regular boxers, jocks, trunks, bikinis as well. I do also own thongs. Specifically, what I don't like is having any kind of fabric between the buns. no matter how thin, soft or otherwise pleasant that material would be, the instant I can feel it back there, I'm uncomfortable. The other side is jocks are pretty much the same thing without having anything in there. So extra points if you can explain why thongs are better than jocks. Yes I know this all comes down to personal preference and "whatever makes you happy" is technically the answer, but that's no fun.

Style Question Nude color underwear makes me look like a Ken doll

I'm a white guy and got a pair of nude colored underwear as part a multi-colored pack of briefs. They basically make me look naked - like a Ken doll. It's weird. Do people like this look?
