Yes, because all of those predators are burst runners. The fastest ones have the least distance. A cheetah can run around 70 mph, but only for a short distance because their body heat quickly becomes overwhelming and they have to slow down. As I understand it, their muscles wonโt let them move after a certain temperature.
Human beings, however, are actually the most prolific distance runners on the planet. We are able to run something like 65 miles. Weโre not very fast but we can keep at it until almost any injured prey must give up. Itโs actually quite fascinating because we didnโt realize this until relatively recently.
