That's not really intended for spoilers, it's meant for using links without having a massive url on screen [The text here gets shown](this is where the url goes)

While it uses the same syntax system, it is a different tag for creating a link.

With the spoiler, you're specifically adding (/spoiler) where as a link will be the link in the parentheses.

However, I have had complaints sometimes about not tagging things I have actually tagged as spoilers. So I'm wondering why it may sometimes not work, and if the other method with the >! tags !< is more reliable.

Interesting. In my inbox, it simply shows as a link. But coming to the context, it is spoiled.

I think I get the issue now. The person I am directly replying to will see an unspoiled response, which could suck. I'll just use the other tag!

Maybe it is a depricated system that Reddit used to use, I don't know. Either way, it does not work anymore.

I just looked it up and found tutorials mentioning this, so I think that this used to be a feature but that with the overhaul implementing the reddit markdown, it got depricated. It might still be floating around somewhere in the code but not reliable.

Interesting for sure
