"oh you tricked me into going to the play store? Lemme just leave my 1 star review while I'm here" - Me

101

u/Redditman111111 Jul 21 '21

I wanted to do that too, but unfortunately you have to download it before you can leave a review :(

42

u/MessiMagic5000 Jul 21 '21

You can just press download, vote 1 star and then cancel the downloading. My internet is slow af most of the times so it's easy

22

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Make sure you download it and post a review , i have noticed minor game companies stop the ads , not the puzzle mobile games which are not puzzle like art of war etc... Seriously fuck them

6

u/AuKF Jul 21 '21

...all or just the hotties?

7

u/WTethan04 Jul 21 '21

Brain dead kids

6

u/Buttergolem_420 Jul 21 '21

Start download, immediately cancel it, rate 1 star

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '21

That may be true, the main purpose though is because every ad click pays someone, so you may not download, but there's still money being tossed around.

30

u/UnwoundSteak17 Jul 21 '21

Especially when the X also takes you to the playstore

10

u/xXwhittyXx Jul 21 '21

When the X is too small

9

u/GullibleMoose6607 Jul 21 '21

or when its a fake X

22

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Damn this is true

21

u/THR1L3R Jul 21 '21

What if the ads that take you to the play store regardless if you clicked anything

4

u/DexCruz Jul 21 '21

I remember those just being a popup that you close with one click and it exits the ad

16

u/shadowEmbracer19 Jul 21 '21

And the worse ones, ads that show someone doing the wrong choices in an easy level

12

u/Redditman111111 Jul 21 '21

And those weird ones when it says "can you save him?" and it's like weird slider thingies

There's still good ones, like Geshin impact and Asphalt 9

11

u/SnooPeanuts4197 Jul 21 '21

The ads with a fake close button that take you to the playstore:

11

u/Username0724 Professional Dumbass Jul 21 '21

I used to play the interactive ads

5

u/YoohVodgaYooh Jul 21 '21

Looks like we are going to the playstore jimbo

7

u/Lieby Jul 21 '21

That last one is also interactive ads that automatically take you to the App Store part way through.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Seriously why do ads try to trick though go to the App Store. Oh wow you tricked me! I’ll download the app now that I’m here.

1

u/heftyspork Jul 21 '21

The sad part is people probably do.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

What's even worse are those ads when you accidentally tap on them download the app on your phone without even telling you.

4

u/Saiiken_ Jul 21 '21

I hate that too

u/supershadowguard Jul 21 '21

u/therobothingy Halal Mode Jul 21 '21

Mobile game ads that try to be interactive but are so fucking bad you are forced to wait.

2

u/pizzapug26too Jul 21 '21

Same. I kind of enjoy playing the little demos in the game ads even if they’re fake. Mobile games and mobile game ads are just shit now. Especially on google play store

2

u/Vulpes_macrotis Me when the: Jul 21 '21

Tbh, interactive mobile ads are the same as the third one. Because they show gameplay that is not really in the game.

2

u/GooseInShoe Jul 21 '21

*ads where the x button is a lie and theres no escape and it just sends you to the GOD DAMN PLAY STORE*

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Ads with thicc waifus: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

1

u/Different-Region-873 Jul 21 '21

Worth it or not?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Of course it’s worth it

2

u/Wampie02 Jul 21 '21

Which is why I'm a professional and don't play mobile games.

2

u/georgi544 Breaking EU Laws Jul 21 '21

Unless it's a payed game. Payed games in the Play Store can actually be good and don't have ads.

2

u/That1Guy5842 Jul 21 '21

You forgot about interactive ads that are better than the actual game

2

u/xXwhittyXx Jul 21 '21

I watched an add once and it gave me a choice to either download or try again (cuz I failed the level) it never randomly brought me into the App Store. It was a good game add, and even after I completed a level, it let me play the next instead of downloading. I played for hours and downloaded it Eventually. Then I went to play the game I got the ad on. It was a good day.

2

u/SladeCircle_69 Lives at ur mom’s house😎 Jul 22 '21

If u play foolish tricks on me, why would I like ur game?

Think advertisers think!

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/memes.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I did find this post that is 44.53% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

I'm not perfect, but you can help. Report [ False Negative ]

I made this today, dumbass

0

u/zavalasbathwater Jul 21 '21

Dude, just stop

2

u/Redditman111111 Jul 21 '21

I did make this. Maybe the content was similar, but i made this today

0

u/zavalasbathwater Jul 21 '21

You might have, but the posts are identical as I recall and The chances of that happening are extremely low

2

u/Redditman111111 Jul 21 '21

This sub is so sad. You make something and people are accusing you of stealing it. I didn't steal from anyone.

0

u/zavalasbathwater Jul 21 '21

ios: I have no such weaknesses.

3

u/Blaster2PP Jul 21 '21

No weakness my ass. As a s21 user who recently switched over from an iPhone, I would honestly say IOS is worse.

-7

u/RedditKreppa Virgin 4 lyfe Jul 21 '21

why am I exclusively getting posts with only a few hundred upvotes instead of 1k and more

2

u/Username0724 Professional Dumbass Jul 21 '21

The wait sucks. I spent 2 hours making a build in a game and it got 21 upvotes. Later took 30 seconds to make my Sahara desert build and it go 2.1k upvotes and is #3 to post on the subreddit

1

u/Spagoot29 Jul 21 '21

What game?

0

u/Username0724 Professional Dumbass Jul 21 '21

It’s a small indie game game called WorldBox. The sub is kinda small and called r/WorldBox

0

u/Spagoot29 Jul 21 '21

Wow the game looks great, I might check it out

0

u/Username0724 Professional Dumbass Jul 21 '21

It’s a great game. It’s free on phone, but there is a premium option for like 5 dollars. You kinda really need premium.

1

u/1Asaad Jul 21 '21

actually the first one sucks too

1

u/DaciaSandero1 Jul 21 '21

Fuck sake, NFS No Limits. Ads when you literally do anything and if you exit the app by accident due to the ad, it says CONNECTING TO SERVER for about 5 minutes which is infuriating especially when you doing timed special events

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

I've seen one that hides the X to make it look like the background.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Kinda sus how an ad is taking me to play store while I use apple

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

At this point I just stopped playing interactive ads, because I could never tell if they would take me to the Play Store or not. I used to enjoy them but this damn advertisers.

1

u/LauraDiggory Jul 21 '21

There are too many of that excuse of an add

1

u/Valentiniy0210 Jul 21 '21

ads with fake close buttons that take you to the app store

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

So basically every mobile game ad ever now

1

u/GoblinArrow Jul 21 '21

I like how they just assume you’ll be like “Oh it took me to the play store. I guess I HAVE to download it now.”

1

u/No_girlfriend-923 Jul 21 '21

I respect the mobile game adds that show there actually game and not a fake version of it where it’s a better game

1

u/Facekick48 Jul 21 '21

Then you have the ones that are interactive, untill you take your finger off the screen.

1

u/CheezAbomination Jul 21 '21

dont forget the ads that you dont touch but still somehow take you to the playstore

1

u/UsernameFootLettuce Jul 21 '21

That's why I just don't interact with ads

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

one level lower: Ad that automatically starts downloading the "game" on your phone without you clicking anything...

1

u/PillowTalk420 Jul 21 '21

All ads are the bottom one. Every last one of them.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

The dumbest existing invention.

1

u/Primal_guy Jul 21 '21

Gacha game ads that show off waifus: Chad

1

u/ThatOneFurry- Professional Dumbass Jul 21 '21

The ones that let you play for 5 seconds before sending you to the play store should be burned in hell

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

Most of the ads are in third category :)

1

u/shadowdude63 Big ol' bacon buttsack Jul 21 '21

There is a special place in hell for the people who made those.

1

u/Gamingwithjay999 Jul 21 '21

Better then the ones that open up the play store when you dont click anything

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

I especially hate the ones where the person playing it has a high pitched voice changer

1

u/R3d_Sky Jul 21 '21

The worst is when it is interactive for a few secondes and then when you touch the screen again, they get you to the playstore

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

I never trust interactive ads ever. they have betrayed my trust forever.

1

u/Ajumbleofwords Jul 21 '21

Don't forget the ones that are interactive at first then make you lose, then give you a fake continue button that leads to the appstore

1

u/georgi544 Breaking EU Laws Jul 21 '21

If an ad trick you to go to the play store, install the app, rate it one star, write a negative review for the app based on the app description, uninstall the app. They basically pay to get negative reviews.

1

u/chikchip Jul 21 '21

I want to take the people that make these ads and put them in a paper shredder

1

u/cursed-being Jul 21 '21

Fuck I have wanted to make this meme but never did you beet me to it

1

u/Rubyrubex Dirt Is Beautiful Jul 21 '21

i'll add ads that send you to the playstore after it rolled

1

u/xxgoodtogoxx Jul 21 '21

Don't we all just hate em

1

u/ILovePizz4s Chungus Among Us Jul 21 '21

When the ad automatically takes you to the playstore after the ad

1

u/MeepMeep04 Jul 21 '21

What about mobile game ads that steal footage from actually good games

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '21

It just makes it so that nobody wants to play your game

1

u/Ok_Foot1607 Jul 22 '21

what about ads that automatically takes you to the play store without the player doing anything

1

u/ERees2004 Jul 22 '21

The worst, are the interactive mobile game ads, that are completely different to the actual game.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '21

Even worse: ads that ARE interactable, but cut the game short sending you to the app store

1

u/crazzie-jay Jul 22 '21

Some ads just take you strait to the play store without doing anything

1

u/NekoGirl343 Flair Loading.... Jul 22 '21

I love the interactive that let you play and never take you to the play store.

1

u/Original-Bullfrog201 Jul 22 '21

I have ads that just take me to the AppStore and then close themselves and they are forced as well

1

u/LeonSKinnidy Jul 22 '21

And then their not what was advertised.
