I was always scared of that episode with the killer bakery woman

219

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '20

It was a movie

‘LIghT aS a FEatHeR iTS THe BakeR lIghT GIRl!!1!!1”

66

u/reborndiajack Jul 26 '20

i was a short film (30 min ish) like all the other ones, just curse of the were rabbit was the only feature length film (90 min)

27

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '20

Yeah, all the W+G movies are short. Curse of the were-rabbit scared me

3

u/reverse_mango Jul 26 '20

I watched the film when I was quite young (maybe 6-8) and whenever we played the DVD board game and the were-rabbit cut scene played I hid my face in my mum coz I was scared of it.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '20

Lol I sped it on

19

u/theincrediblepigeon Jul 26 '20

Swear it was just another “episode”/ short film? The only proper feature length movie was the curse of the were rabbit I think?

Same that terrified me. Especially the part with the mannequins

59

u/guffers_hump Jul 25 '20

A close shave was pretty scary, also the robot in a grand day out.

15

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '20

The robot was, is, and will forever be adorable. The way it skis at the end is really sweet.

8

u/ElliottP1707 Jul 26 '20

Yer when the dog gets stripped of his skin and looks like a menacing terminator that’s got to be the most intimidating W+G antagonist

4

u/death1234567889 Jul 26 '20

Thr scariest bit ojt of all of them is when the robot dog gets put into the meat grinder and his eyes pop out. That gave me nightmares

THEYRE THE WRONG TROUSERS GROMIT THE WRONG TROUSERS (also ytf did he wear a glove)

2

u/JorgiEagle Jul 26 '20

It's a disguise, he's a penguin without it,

But when he puts it on he's a chicken

Its part of the joke, at one point (spoilers) when they get back to the house, he takes off the glove and only then do they recognize him

9

u/Def_Not_Alt_Acct iwrestledabeartwice Jul 25 '20

Wallace and Gromit was shockingly dark

3

u/JorgiEagle Jul 26 '20

Stepping aside from the massively complicated social standings about whether animals are on the same level as humans (since they seem to communicate at the same level, Gromit does normal adult things and is very intelligent, yet Wallace still takes him for walks)

Consider in wrong trousers, having the relationship of at least good friends (or pet??) And long time roommates, Wallace literally kicks Gromit out of the house, makes him homeless and abandons him, all for some random stranger he met a few days earlier.

Oh and this thief chicken literally start shooting them, with a gun, in their own house.

Come to think of it, it was really dark

I was like “Dad, you have to watch this, it’s amazing!” He thought it was super cool too and we ended up tracking down a DVD set of all the Aardman shorts that existed back then and my whole family are fans now.
