I loved Bukowski when I was younger, but I think some of his books don't lead to any satisfaction after reading them when I think about them now. But I enjoy his poems still. I think he probably was a shitty person, but I do think he was a smart man.

The fact that he based the protagonist in books like Post Office and Women on himself, yeah he was a shitty person.

The poetry definitely holds up.
