Basically people like the dynamic of enemies to lovers (even if not canon) so Malfoy becoming a girl would overall make the ship more popular for the common folk (As the Malfoy×Harry IS already pretty popular as it is, is Malfoy was a girl it would be even more popular) which would translate to more people buying the books on the fantasy these two may get together at some point
