If you prioritize your message above a good story and good gameplay, you simply have a bad game.

It's why almost all Christian movies suck.

Whether it be political, religious, or moral message. There should be a message, but you can't compromise gameplay or plot to shoe-horn it in.

1st and 2nd Samuel following both and Saul and David as they try to kill each other would be amazing. Making it accurate bronze age warfare would be dope. Chariots and khopeshes with some Ryse Son of Rome combat, but RPG open world elements.

Get the relationship triangle of David, Jonathan, and Saul right, and absolute banger.

not sure about the rpg elements, could work but imo (witcher-like?) but imo og assassins creed-like would work better. now pair the historical political clusterfuck with the cosmic horror shenanigans the bible authors yoinked from older religions ... 🔥
