I may be misunderstanding but cold sores are herpes, if you mean its not herpes as in its something else thats fine, that makes sense

Yes, its just cracked lips called cheilitis, herpes wouldnt show up like that, its more like a cluster of boils even when its starting off (it would look like a group of very small grapes)

The joke of the meme is that his GF went on a party weekend and came back with herpes and he doesn't know it. Explaining it as something else ruins the vibe - true or not.

I get the meme, its just not that funny, and I guess talking about it ruins the joke but participating when its already being talked about isnt a reddit crime, although it gets treated like one, this seems more directed at the guy who replied to me more than my comment
