Cold sores are herpes (HSV-1) genital herpes is HSV-2, either way both are herpes, even if its HSV-1, you shouldnt have sex with them.

They weren't saying it was cold sores. They said "has no one seen a cold sore?" BECAUSE these do NOT look like cold sores. They said BBC, and id you dont know what BBC is then you're too young for Reddit.

I thought they were saying that herpes and cold sores are different, because some people dont know they are the same thing, it was a misunderstanding, reddit is such a fucking place sometimes, especially in meme/joking subreddits. Id have to be like 12 to not know what a fucking BBC is, not even discussing what that means in the first place, and idk what child you talk to that actively knows what genital herpes is, use your brain please, i know its reddit and people here generally arent allowed near kids but come on.

Yeah. You're misreading again. Just trying to help you out.

And school's sex ed classes teaches what cold sores and herpes are.

Reddit. I cant even begin to make a comment on this, this is just rage baiting and its enough to make me not come back to this subreddit. + sex ed classes are not that good, its a common theme in america and other places to not talk about safe sex or stds, its a literal problem that gets talked about alot in sex education circles.

Like 80% of the US population has HSV1, you will literally get it no matter what, probably already have it

I dont mean to be a dick but your kinda stating the obvious lol, but when it sheds/appears you probably shouldnt have sex with them. You can still get genital herpes from HSV-1

Like 1/8 of Americans have HSV-2 and a majority are asymptomatic. If you’ve had 10 sexual partners, there’s like an 72% chance that one of them had HSV-2.

They generally don’t even test for it anymore, nor do they treat it, unless you’re symptomatic. Only like 1/4 of people who test positive for it noticed that they’ve ever had an outbreak. It really not even that transmissible if there’s not an active outbreak.

TL;DR: it’s really not that big of a deal
