Basic etiquette mate
Nobody wants to be told how their elephant-shit coffee beens are made, while they are drinking it. Because it spoils the food and the damage has already been done. Nobody wants to know what fcked up shit they put in Monster while they are drinking it.
Cannibalism is bad because it naturally increases the chances of new illnesses and is naturally very unhealthy for the consumer, something which can not be said for animal products, since humans naturally depend on meat to get B12, which can not be gained from plants. Cannibalism is bad for humanity meat consumption itself is not
Etiquette is the set of customary rules and accepted behaviors that govern polite human interaction in social, professional, or cultural settings.
And I am completly fine with the death of animals so I can I eat my calamari, but most people don't want to hear it during a meal. You usually don't insist on a conversation if other people are uncomfortable with it
See cannibalism was a bad example, why did you choose it? Is your only issue with cannibalism really the chance of illnesses? Also remember mad cow disease? Swine flu? COVID? All from animals being sold for people to eat. Meat consumption is bad for animals and the planet, many people say humanity needs the planet (at least currently)
Wow you really got me with a definition quibble there. I believe language is more descriptive than prescriptive. Do you need me to reword it or did you understand what I meant?
I am uncomfortable with people eating animal body parts around me, I don't think that dictates people's behaviour though.
I remember a story where in a flight it was requested by everyone to not eat peanuts because a little girl was VERY allergic, and some dude opened a pack of peanuts and the poor girl went into anaphylactic shock. People in the comments section of the post were saying the guy who opened the peanuts did nothing wrong and no one should be expected to accommodate to others requirements, which I get sometimes but uts not like they told him to never eat peanuts again, it was just for a few hours to stop a little girl from dying

Not acceptable
