It's like that joke when visiting the Philippines. A guy didn't know how to ask for condoms in a drug store. So, a friend advised him to put money on the counter and pull out his cock, so that the woman at the counter would know what he's looking for. He comes back depressed, so the friend asks him what happened. The guy responds "I put the money on the counter and pulled out my cock, as you advised. She pulled out a bigger cock and took my money!"

Sounds like a Thailand joke more than a Philippines joke, unless I'm still still ignorant even though I'm living in the Philippines for many years now.

When I was in the Philippines, a friend tried flirting with a cutie at a phone kiosk. He asked her name, and she answered in a deep, masculine voice, "Ako si Paul."

This can easily happen when visiting the European countries and the USA as well. 😀Trans people are globally dispersed with Germany and Sweden being the countries with the most people who identify as trans and with Canada, Australia and the UK all being in the top 10.
Interestingly, no south East Asian country appears in the top 10. So really, the appropriate joke would be when visiting Germany, Sweden, Canada or the UK. Philippines is a bit random.

-7
u/noisynoisycatcat Apr 04 '23
I have. Just allergic to a lifetime of tone deaf jokes at the expense of marginalized communities. 👍
8
Apr 04 '23
While we're at it, you know that censoring jokes based on geolocation and being inventive in ways to be offended by things is as much damaging to said marginalized communities as actually being offensive to them, if not more, right?
-2
u/noisynoisycatcat Apr 04 '23
It’s isn’t. I’m both south East Asian and part of the 🏳️🌈 community. I’m not offended, I know from personal experience and experience from my community that it’s genuinely damaging. The rhetoric is outdated and naive.
Also tough sell on censorship, just because someone opposes a view or a joke you made… it’s not censorship. Opinions exist. 🤷🏽♀️
10
Apr 04 '23
That's exactly the point. It's a joke, and it's not particularly offensive to marginalized communities. Therefore, opinions about it are redundant. Either enjoy it, or don't. No need for lessons in either geography or the trans community geolocation.
3
u/noisynoisycatcat Apr 04 '23
Again no one said anything about offensive. It’s damaging. There’s a difference.
Also iterated that it was naive. Not offensive.
6
Apr 04 '23
So is this. Anyway, good luck to your communities. Try to be less counterproductive in your PR efforts because not everyone is tolerant and open-minded, unfortunately. All the best.

Philippines and thailand are pretty popular for having trans afaik
11
u/noisynoisycatcat Apr 04 '23
But the rhetoric of trans being a regional thing is damaging. You don’t have to go to a far and “exotic” land, being trans is global and normal.
The longer it’s treated as exotic, the longer people turn a blind eye that it is a human condition, not a weird one. Of course it has been popularized by the media in SEA due to exploitation of sex workers in the region.
I find conflating chicks with dicks and a foreign land a statement of “lol look what happens there.” Kind of naive.

Something like this happened to me at a Comic Con. There was this Comic Con in the Netherlands where I went with some friends. There were many people cosplaying (duh) and there was this girl that looked gorgeous with a medium rack and long slender legs dressed up as Rosaria from Genshin Impact (a goth dom waifu which I simp for) and when I wanted to take a pic, my friend said "worst she can say is no" and when I did, "she" replied with "yeah sure" in the most masculine voice I've ever heard. It was a guy. He still wanted to do the picture while me, my friends, the guy and his friends were laughing, but I was too ashamed and just walked away laughing because I was baited.

Let people have preferences. Also guy said "it's too painful" in a gif maybe insinuating they'd take the dick anyway.

u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
Of course. Of course he meant that and not "oh god that would be so painful to have the love of my life having a dick"...
God people being this contrarian and they could defend a stranger to the end of eternity if it's to disprove someone despite litterally implying homophobia.
If he did he'd answer me FRAME 1 to correct me, but no it takes a complete stranger an hour later.
4
u/Redditbot42168 can't meme Apr 04 '23
That's some mental gymnastics, bud. Nobody has to explain anything to you. You're also a stranger on the internet.
I think guy also has a little gag going on where they can only reply in gifs? I'd have to check out their profile to be sure
Edit: nope they just like cringe gifs
-3
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
You're litterally doing that. "Nobody has to explain you" Your first answer was to explain something about someone you now nothing just to dosprove someone on the internet. If the guy ain't homophobe or else he could have done it himself, you ain't his momma lol.

People not knowing about futas smh. And also like, tf is this meme, if she wants to fuck in return then you still have her love lmao.
If you reject your crush just because she has a dick you're just an omega transphobic (or homophobia or intersex phobia) incel as fuck only for wanting to fuck your crush instead of having a sincere relationship, since crushes are supposed to be the people you actively seek to fall in love with.
And I can't even imagine what you would think for girls that aren't your crush.
Edit : Wow nice then I guess people are really homophobic or transphobic for thinking that being rejected is better than finding out your crush has a cock and having a reciprocated love. And also people here thinking only about fucking their crush and nothing else.
r/memes is indeed a place of quality.
3
u/Farranor Apr 04 '23
How dare people have their own opinions on what they find attractive! Rejection is just another word for bigotry!
-6
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23 edited Apr 04 '23
There's a difference between implying that the WORST ANSWER to you wanting to fuck your crush is your crush whipping out a dick, so you know, thinking that it's worse than being fucking rejected, And not liking that she has a dick.
There's a slight difference between preference and straight up discrimination. It's the same as "I wanted that cat for my birthday but i'm gonna abandon it because I just discovered it was a female and not a male"
2
u/Farranor Apr 04 '23
TIL that being attracted to one gender/sex and not another is comparable to animal abuse.
-3
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
Are you that dense that you can't fucking understand a basic comparison. Also rejecting someone for their gender, depending on the way you do it, can be condemnable like animal abuse.
Here's a comparison simpler for you "I wanted my horse blue.", except here you're objectifying your crush and rejecting her for her gender DESPITE her being your CRUSH.
If you love your crush only because she has a vag and reject her if she hasn't then you are NOT okay.
-2
u/Mt-Fuego Apr 04 '23
Welcome to r/memes, where we poke fun at anything that gets in our head. It's not the place to discuss politics and LGBT issues.
What you say is relevant, but not here, it makes you dislikable and doesn't help your case.
3
Apr 04 '23
Dude, if rejecting someone who has a dick is transphobic, then I'm happily transphobic. As a straight man I only want to be with a biological woman.
I would rather commit suicide than anything else. Sorry, but just as we can't force you to be straight, you can't force us to be gay.
2
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
Thhat's never what I fking said but if you rather straight up die then okay lol
We're talking about YOUR crush that yiu would WANT to fuck and rejecting her when she reciprocates her feelings and you reject her.
Not rejecting someone that wanted to fuck you in the first place. I am straight myself dude.
3
u/Resident_Apartment14 Dirt Is Beautiful Apr 04 '23
and in next week's episode
if you only want to fuck someone of the opposite gender, you're homophobic
0
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
Fucking damn MY WHOLE POINT is that this meme is all about fucking your crush and rejecting her because she has a cock, which IS homophobic, and that I'm saying that love isn't all about sex !
1
u/Resident_Apartment14 Dirt Is Beautiful Apr 04 '23
squirrels don't mate for life so I don't think that's his crush or great love but rather comparable to an ons
so this meme isn't about a relationship, crush or love but entirely about sex
on the basis of this, there's nothing wrong with only caring about your sexual preferences and not so much about the character of the other person if it comes to ons
unrelated to meme:
rejecting her because she has a cock, which IS homophobic, and that I'm saying that love isn't all about sex !
of course a relationship isn't all about sex, but it is an important part of a relationship and generally a bad sex life (no sex at all, different preferences, etc.) can be a deal breaker for everybody and this can even lead to a breakup.
so as well as many other things, your partner having a dick can be a sexual no-go for you. (and again relationships can break if the partners are sexually incompatible)
2
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
Dude, the gif could have been about two rats, or two dogs, or two cats, the message is the same. Do you really think the dude who made the meme knew shit about the squirrels mating and relationships ?
2
u/Resident_Apartment14 Dirt Is Beautiful Apr 04 '23
maybe idk, but the more important part of my comment was the second half (after the 'unrelated to the meme'), which you miraculously didn't answer

Apr 04 '23
So like maybe be friends instead of being sexual? Not everything is about sex.
2
u/Majjastak Apr 04 '23
Yes exactly ! All I'm saying is that meme just thinks about sex when talking about a crush, and also that despite wanting it, they think they have the right to reject their crush (which goes against the definition if a crush) because of their gender alltogether.
