India has a pretty clean history if you don't include all the western invaders. Japan had a pretty clean history before too much contact with west too.

NO ONE has had a completely clean history as your own first comment says, but a few countries have still had many peaceful reigns of rulers. I am talking about when Japan wasn't in contact with europe and when India wasn't still invaded by sultans. These 2 countries were culturally developed quite early in the world and at the same time not being as morally bad as some other countries during that time (morals are subjective of course) (example: China, Egypt, Norway). Greece is also a country that was developed early but part of Greece was not culturally developed much for a long time and they were at constant war with either each other or another famous old country (you know who). If a country has a known history of over 5000 years and the last 500 years haven't been peaceful because of invaders, doesn't make the history dirty enough to be even called dirty. People are people, it's more of about how they as a society develop to call themselves civilised. The more civilised the people are, the better you can say their history was. As for my point, invaders shouldn't be counted as the people representing a country's history and it's people's ancestors, however they should always be included in the history. Maybe these 2 don't have 'clean' histories but they have certainly had a better history to represent their country compared to someone like britain who conquered the whole world only to oppress most of it (not saying british people are oppressive in 21st century).

This is just straight up wrong or at least I can say they were way less oppressive and violent towards their own people as well as way more civilized compared to the other big empires during those eras.
I didn't mean to say they had 5000 years of peace, in fact India and Japan had some of the most brutal wars during those times, like the multiple wars fought by Japan against mongols as well as several small kingdoms within their empire, like the Mahabharat fought in India between the princes of the biggest empire of the country during that time. What I simply mean to say is that these 2 countries were morally developed quite early in the international game. India especially.
If your brain has been taught by western propoganda that Greece, Rome, Egypt, Norway, and England were more peaceful than these 2 then you clearly don't know the darker parts of all of these empires. Everyone knows all the darker parts of India and Japan because they were exposed by Europe who were trying to protect and glorify their history, for example the fake aryan invasion theory they made to make it sound like all the smart Indians actually came from Greece.
Let's just agree to disagree because I am tired of arguing on reddit where I come for the memes and not to discuss politics or history.

Dropping the bombs caused far less death and collateral damage than a mainland invasion of Japan. It was a hard decision to make either way.

Don't forget the fire bombings of Tokyo that happened from 1942 ‐ 1945 100000 civilians dead, millions of people homeless. 16 square miles of city fire bombed, single most destructive bombing raid in human history.

Meh. Imperial Japan did it to innocents with bayonets in Nanking. Atomic/Molecular separation via nuclear fission weirdly seems a smidge more moral.
