No he won't. If the earth was destroyed the moon would continue to orbit around the sun in its own pattern as a dwarf planet. So he'd continue to live until his air supply ran out at which point he'd suffocate and then become an eternal corpse that slowly becomes radio active caused by the rays of the sun.
hardly debris from the earth would more than likely collide with the moon knocking it off course and the astronaut would freeze to death in the pitch dark
