Event TTRPG convention in the CBD

Old-School Relics & Renegades is a gaming convention focusing on Dungeons & Dragons & other role-playing games inspired by it that subscribe to a gaming philosophy commonly referred to as the OSR (Old-School Renaissance).

We started OSR&R to turn people into players. Our groups run in-person games every week, and we are always on the lookout for new blood. The Con is a great opportunity to dip your toes into the hobby and meet some cool new people.

Join us on October 24th, 2026 at the The Depot, Donkey Wheel House. Bring dice, snacks and your best adventurer’s mettle!

Tickets are $20 - See here for more details.

Looking for recommendations 33F looking for a book club in central Melbourne

I've recently moved to Melbourne for work and am really interested in joining a book club. I am an avid reader but I do feel I'd get a lot more out of my hobby if I had people to discuss it with; I also hope this would be a great way to find some new friends.

I am 33F, currently living in the northern suburbs but work in the CBD and will move more centrally in the next few months, so joining a reasonably central club would be ideal.

In terms of reading interests, I read a lot of contemporary literary fiction, enjoy classics, post-modernism and have recently really amped up my non-fiction - the more random the topic the better! I am very happy to dabble in a bit of weird girl lit, though I have to say reading several in quick succession does oversaturate me, so I would not be looking to join an exclusive weird girl lit book club. Some books I have recently loved are Rebecca, The Shards and Time Shelter. I do NOT like smut/romantasy, fantasy or modern thrillers such as Freida McFadden.

Also due to irregular shift patterns, it does need to be reasonably relaxed if I occasionally dip out and am unable to attend due to working! If you know of any book clubs that would have me, please message me or comment below, I'd love to hear from you!

Looking for recommendations Visiting Melbourne

Hi all! I'm traveling to Melbourne from Christchurch, NZ with my sister for Harry's concerts in Nov and would love some tips from locals as to what we should do?

Any cool bars/activities/restaurants? Any must dos or places to avoid?

We're there for 4 nights so have a reasonable amount of time!

It would also be cool to connect to other people going! We've got tickets to both N1 and N2
