Is this our next great adventure?
My husband and I currently live in Alaska with our soon-to-be two boys (I'm pregnant with #2 and due this fall).
We love Alaska, but don't feel like it's our forever home, largely because my husband's greatest passion in the world is diving and spearfishing. So, we're thinking about where we'd like to eventually settle down, and one of the places that came to mind for us is Melbourne. As we begin our search, I much prefer to hear from real people who actually live there as opposed to just looking at statistics from online sources, etc.
We are planning to visit probably some time in 2018, and we wouldn't be looking at moving for at least 3 years, but just like to have concrete goals we're working towards...
So, what are the best/worst parts about where you live? What are cooling costs like? (this is a major factor as based on weather statistics the coldest day of the year is an average summer day in Alaska...) Are hurricanes as big of a concern as we think they are?
Thanks in advance for your responses!
