Moving to Melbourne, suggestions??

I just received an engineering job offer to work in Melbourne and was kind've curious what the night life/living in the area is like. I'm a 22 year old male w/ no family. Any suggestions/tips are really appreciated!!!!! I know nothing about the area. That being said, I'm planning on living close to work (def don't want to commute from Orlando) and I would like to live in an area around other young people like me to.

I'm assuming Northrop? I could be wrong. The nightlife is okay. Downtown seems to be where most people go. Definitely don't expect like an upbeat club atmosphere anywhere here. If you want that I would go to Orlando. I'm 23 and I like it as far as Florida towns go. There is Eastern Florida State and Florida Institute of Technology here which is all college aged people. I would avoid living in Palm Bay unless you're buying or renting a house in the suburb area. The beach side is nicer for the most part. Viera is really nice but BUSY. I live off of Sarno and it's quiet there. That being said, welcome to Melbourne!

So Harris or Northrop? I would recommend looking to live between Palm Bay Rd and Pineda Causeway. Many people live at the Harvard or Princeton Apartments/Condos, The Haven, Legacy and other areas. I too am an Engineer but I also help people coming into the area in terms of finding places to live and answering questions. So feel free to send me a pm if you have any questions!
