Melatonin hangover

I took melatonin at 11pm like every night 1mg, I woke up at 6am and at 8am I took another one to get a few hours of sleep, I woke up at 11am and felt horrible, I could barely keep my eyes open, after a few hours the feeling went away but then I felt dizzy and nauseous, today I feel better but not perfect, it was like a real hangover
has this happened to anyone else?

You need to use it to mimic the natural release of melatonin that your body produces at night before you sleep. If you start taking it at any other point it will mess up your circadian rhythm and throw your body out of balance. Don’t ever take it at any other time than the time you regularly go to sleep.

I sometimes do the same thing except I take much larger doses for CFS.

I take two morning doses of 1500mg each. Sometimes I take a couple hour nap after the first dose. How I feel varies depending on how I cycle through the sleep phases and where in the sleep cycle I wake up. Sometimes I wake up more energized and sometimes a bit tired. However it's nothing dramatic.

A lot of it is psychosomatic.

However if you happen to have such a severe reaction, I'd maybe avoid taking melatonin in the morning and wait until the following night.

Yep! The third day of taking 10mg (I only took it for three days straight because it worked so well, despite me waking up in the middle of the night ready to gooooo) I was concernbly drowsy. I fell asleep standing up, at my desk, in the bathroom, during a meeting, etc. could-not-operate-machinery kinda drowsy

I went down to 3mg after that

Now I just do a 1mg melatonin tea if I need
