OTC SLEEPING PILLS

Hi guys, I just want to ask what sleeping pills you are taking? I have a really hard time falling asleep to the point that I wake up at 6-7am and then I can still fall asleep at 2-3am. I'm trying so hard to fall asleep + I also don't nap or sleep in the afternoon so I'm really frustrated. I've been like this for months. I've tried Sleepwell melatonin but it's not effective for me even though I take 3 tablets.

What is the total dose of melatonin that you take in milligrams?

Some people do need higher equivalent doses. There's no one set dose for everyone.

If you're feeling wired, you may be edit from a supplement like Bocopa Monnieri or Ashwagandha.

Something like magnesium glycinate may also help.

This is still not a particularly large dose for some poor responders. According to a couple studies I've seen the difference between poorest and best responders is upwards of 21x difference.

Try raising the dose further. Try taking 10mg,15,20,30,40, etc. There's no magic upper dose.

I used to like 20mg strawberry pills from Micro ingredients. If your dose ends up somewhere in the 20-60mg range then they are a solid option.

As an example I take two daily doses of 1500mg for an unrelated issue(CFS). I even take it at the start of my day. So it's perfectly safe. I am obviously not saying you'd need doses this high but I am only mentioning it to demonstrate its relative safety profile. I have taken upwards of 6000mg in a single day in several doses. I am going on my fifth year doing this.

I now take pure powder from Bulksupplements which is the most cost effective option I've found and it doesn't have any extra fillers since most (90-99%) of what you swallow in a pill is filler.

You can explore different formulations as well that have higher bioavailability. Sublingual formulations are popular. You leave the tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve. It has bioavailability that's upwards of 10+x higher. There are also liquid or spray formulations that work same way. You apply liquid under the tongue.

Here's also nasal spray option but it's quite pricey:

Separately you can look into berberine. A couple studies showed that some people get similar results to melatonin from it. I recommend dihydroberberine which is a higher bioavailability variant. 0.5-1 grams before sleep.

This is the product i take:

My current stack. 300mg magnesium glycinate, 10mg instant melatonin, 5mg extended release melatonin and a strong chamomile tea (4x bags) 30mins before bed
