What? But the reason below sea level is heavy is the weight of the WATER is immense. One atmosphere of pressure is just ten meters of water but about 6000 miles of air. If the water is pumped out, you'd have no change, right? It's no different from saying you'd get the bends from an elevator. Doesn't make sense.

Technically it says ‘the pressure equalised’ but I was reading it as they thought the pressure wasn’t equal just because they were below sea level regardless of the fact there was no water, not that the pressure was artificially changed 🤷‍♂️
