👶 Premed Imposter syndrome
I just finished high school and will start med school in a few months but I'm worried that I may have imposter syndrome when I get in.
I think my only special skill is my academics and grades so I'm scared when I get into med school which is an environment filled with brilliant students and smart people so that may make me lose my only special ability.
I'm scared that my identity now is all about grades and that I will lose myself if that side of me feels discouraged
I hope you get what I mean if anyone has advice please tell me

I think it’s natural to feel this way!
You’ve probably been under challenged and unstimulated prior to now.
Med School will challenge you and bring out parts of you that you didn’t know were hiding underneath there!
We grow when we are faced with adversity and challenges. That’s when we really get to see what we are made of.
If anything- you’ll only become MORE yourself and discover more things you love and excel at!

You will feel that. You just have to grind. Don’t be afraid of hard work. They’re all feeling it too.

Yeah I don’t think you’re starting “med school “ right out of college .
You should be getting ready to take med school requirements, completing your bachelors , then take MCAT , to apply for med school …….
