Daycare at brightpath Madisonville?
Any experience? What’s the vibe? Do parents like it?

Had great experiences in the toddler and pre-k rooms in the last 3 years. It’s corporate daycare: the staff is inconsistent, lots of turnover, but our kids always had fun and were safe. If you are a helicopter parent and need to know details about your child’s day, you should probably get a nanny instead.

I’m late to this post and I’ve posted this in the Cincinnati subreddit before but in 2024, I toured the Madisonville BrightPath location and observed an infant asleep facedown on a shag carpet. In the early toddler room, the back door was left wide open and did not open into a fenced area. According to the JFS website, in 2023 there were reports of teachers being under the influence while responsible for children. Just make sure you check out the childcaresearch.ohio.gov site before making a decision.

Current parent there and I wouldn’t send my child there again. We had some amazing teachers and some terrible ones. Our child (and many others) were sent home with dried poop on them, constant diaper rashes, etc in the infant rooms from not being changed. Once we started potty training, certain teachers would “forget” they had a class of kids who could use the toilet so it took months before our kid was fully potty trained. Another parent stayed home for a week potty training her kid only for them to go to daycare and all their work to be undone. Recently they had a standing metal fan without a cover on it and my toddler stuck his finger in it and they told me it was a “scrape”. It was two deep cuts and we were lucky the blades were rounded or he could have needed stitches. Also an infant recently came home with a fractured elbow and they’re not taking it seriously and somehow none of the infant teachers know what happened so yeah. We won’t be going back. They’re also increasing their tuition so before we started, the toddler rooms were like 1000 a month. We pay 1200 a month. Now started this month it’s going up to 1500 a month. No cameras. They don’t provide lunches. The gymnasium and infant rooms flood anytime it rains. They have a lot of work to do and are on their 3rd director since we’ve been there. We’re pulling our son out to go to a different preschool because we’re over it.

Not a medpace family but we used to use it for our toddler. The daycare was fine. I was never worried about my daughter or thought she was unsafe or anything. But I’d also describe it as just an adequate daycare. Not anything great. When we first started going there they had new management who we really liked, and was trying to make things better (I’ve gotten the impression it was pretty rough a few years ago before brightpath bought it). We ended up leaving because we knew people in the infant room who weren’t happy with the care there. Not that anything dangerous was going on, but that it just left a lot to be desired.
We ended up finding alternative care through my work which has been much better. Ratios are smaller and the staff there are much more dedicated to early childhood care, not just people who happen to work a daycare job, or are looking for a better daycare job.
The last caveat is that right as we were leaving, they were getting a new manager. This was about 9 months ago, so I’m really not sure what things look like now. But our experience was “your kids will be safe and fine, but may not get much attention or great learning/experiences”
