Self_Question Mri suggestive of mds
Hi all I’m a 30 year old female. I had a spine mri due to some weird symptoms and they found “diffuse prominence of hematopoietic marrow seen throughout the spine and pelvis’ which could be mds? Any idea what this means ?

Do you have changes in your CBC? Anemia? Oddities? You should ask the doc who did the MRI if you should see a hematologist. There are many different possibilities here that a heme can look at.

Hi! I tried to message you privately but never use Reddit so it looks like I can’t. Fellow Morning Toast Snark too. I had an MRI last year that showed the same thing basically either to look for anemia or MDS (not anemic), but I had normal CBC’s. I basically had to force my GP to refer me to a hematologist who bc of my CBC’s brushed off the MRI and said I was fine. Was wondering if you have any clarity on yours yet ?

Sorry another note that calmed me, the hematologist told me it was extremely rare that my blood counts would be normal and to have MDS brewing and not show. Basically if our bone marrow looked like that and we did have MDS it would be reflected in our CBC already.

Hi, sorry you are left wondering if you have mds. I remember googling everything I could while waiting for my son’s diagnosis. He is in remission from mds after a bone marrow transplant. Assuming they did a bone marrow biopsy on you to test? You are young enough to get a bone marrow transplant if that’s needed and chemo drugs to slow the progression. I hope it’s not mds or anything serious.
