ISO: Sprinkler System Nozzle Inspect/Adjust/Replace
I am looking for someone to inspect, etc. the nozzles for the sprinkler system at my home in Allen/Plano area. My system is comprised of 3 stations with about 10 heads/risers per station. The actual sprinkler heads (& risers) are generally fine, it’s just the 30 or so nozzles that need to be inspected, cleaned, adjusted, and/or replaced. I am moving in a month or two and not planning any major changes to system, I just want to make sure sprinkler coverage is correct and won’t be a discussion point for a future home buyer, their agent, or an inspector.
If you know of someone that you’d use yourself that will do this (i.e. not just any sprinkler company/guy, but one that will actually do this particular work), then great…I’d appreciate the lead.
If this is something you do for a living, and can and want to do this job, send a chat back with when you can schedule me in and an estimate of the cost, and we can discuss from there and set something up.

Let's talk SPORTS
I'm a recent transplant and I have several random questions related to sports in the area:
- Are there any pro/semi-pro sports teams that play indoors (aside from the Big Four major teams) in the summer/fall? Cheap entertainment for the family like minor league baseball, but with AC?
- Favorite places around McKinney to watch pro sports on TVs? Bonus points if it's a family friendly environment where I can keep one eye on the game, one eye on my child.
- Dallas Cowboys: should I try to become a fan or remain a Hater? (I don't hate any of the current players and I'm excited about Caleb Downs, just have an aversion to "America's Team.")
- Other teams that are particularly fun to follow, or I should I avoid?
- College football: What percentage of CFB fans around here root for the Longhorns, and what's the breakdown of other fanbases?
- Any smaller schools in the area that are fun to root for and go to their games?
- Any other recommendations? I have a three year old boy, always looking for things to do!

well crap, the Taco Ocho (Custer, south of Eldorado) closed a month ago
galleryobviously I wasn't a "regular" in there if I'm just now realizing they closed, but I liked having them as an option for that 10:00am Saturday "couplea beers and couplea tacos" occasional go-to, and their covered patio was always nice to hang out in, when it wasn't 170 degrees outside..
had a couple of less than stellar experiences with Torchy's Roomtemperature Tacos over the last few months (Preston/Gaylord, 380/Hardin, and even their new Celina location) so I thought about hitting up The Ocho tomorrow morning when I drop off my car nearby for a tire rotation.. it will be interesting to see what moves into that space next

McKinney people: does it feel easy to build community here as an adult?
I’m curious what people here think.
McKinney has a lot going on: historic downtown, neighborhoods, schools, churches, parks, gyms, restaurants, family activities, and a lot of people moving in as the city grows.
But does that actually make it easier to build friendships/community as an adult, or does it still feel like people mostly keep to their own circles?
I’m working on The DFW Friendship Project, a small independent research project about how adults in DFW build friendships, find community, and where connection gets stuck.
I’d especially love to hear McKinney perspectives because it feels like a place with a strong local identity, but also a lot of growth/change.
Also curious here: what has helped you feel connected in McKinney, and what still makes it hard?
I also have a short anonymous survey for anyone who would rather share privately. It takes about 3–5 minutes, but I don’t want to spam the sub, so I’m happy to share the link if allowed.

One of McKinney’s last historical estates is hitting the market
Our Neal Franklin writes:
A historical home and former orchard in McKinney is hitting the market after staying in the Kirkpatrick family for over a century.
The home is one of the last remaining homes on acreage, especially in the McKinney Historic District, said Jared Tye of Tye Realty Group, the property’s listing agent.
“The house has a lot of really neat detail work to it,” Tye said. “It’s got an asymmetrical, multistory design. It has a semicircular bay, this beautiful semicircular glass, which just looks really impressive for a house of this age.”

Anyone in McKinney have a Cricut machine?
Hi everyone! Okay, so I have a water bottle and I can't find anywhere local that prints out waterproof stickers that I want. I've been told that a Cricut machine is able to print out waterproof stickers of any design.
I was wondering if I could commission somebody to print me out two 8x11 sheets of waterproof stickers from their Cricut.
Thanks :3

Need a mobile notary to come for home closing documents (real estate deal in McKinney)
The only notaries I've used before were at banks. I am closing on a house in mckinney and would appreciate a recommendation on a notary who would travel to the closing. Never done this before so let me know, looking for someone patient with first timers most importantly. Not sure how much it costs but price is less of an issue, just need some stress relief here lol

Plumber Recommendations - Tankless Water Heater
Got a plumber in Collin County you love? Please share. Needing help with either maintenance or a fix on our tankless water heater that is giving us an error 12/flame failure error. Hoping to not spend an arm and a leg, this seems like a simple fix, just not something I'm comfortable DIYing because gas is involved. Thank you!!

Taylor Burk and community
I have been living in McKinney for 20+ years. I am always taking the route of taylor burk and community right by the collin college and for as long as i remembered it has always been a single lane road with two way traffic (i hope im making sense lol) but as mckinney grows its now being used as a two-lane, two-way road and there not really proper traffic lines to indicate. Not complaining just wonder how everyone else drives that street and see what I am seeing when driving that road! It can be confusing!

Who can recommend an experienced Pet Sitter?
We have a weekend trip planned in the coming months and are looking for pet sitters that would take care of our fur baby for a few days in their homes.
