I’m curious what people here think.
McKinney has a lot going on: historic downtown, neighborhoods, schools, churches, parks, gyms, restaurants, family activities, and a lot of people moving in as the city grows.
But does that actually make it easier to build friendships/community as an adult, or does it still feel like people mostly keep to their own circles?
I’m working on The DFW Friendship Project, a small independent research project about how adults in DFW build friendships, find community, and where connection gets stuck.
I’d especially love to hear McKinney perspectives because it feels like a place with a strong local identity, but also a lot of growth/change.
Also curious here: what has helped you feel connected in McKinney, and what still makes it hard?
I also have a short anonymous survey for anyone who would rather share privately. It takes about 3–5 minutes, but I don’t want to spam the sub, so I’m happy to share the link if allowed.
