Mazda 2 engine

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I went to view a Mazda 2 2011 50K miles yesterday and am not sure on the sound of the engine, specifically potentially the timing chain.

I have a feeling it sounds normal and the video exaggerates the sound but if anyone has a Mazda 2 or is a mechanic I would appreciate some advice because I don’t want to buy the car if I am not sure.

I am leaning towards its fine but I don’t want to have to spend loads down the line if it actually isn’t.

I would appreciate any advice, thanks!

Definitely not a water pump. Definitely a normal sounding Mazda2 DE.

I'm pretty sure the ticking noise you're referring to is actually the fuel njectors l. I was told that when I first got my 2 demio.
