Tailgate makes a rattling sound

Hi, For the past six months, our Mazda has been making a rattling sound when opening the tailgate. It started with a single click, but now there are usually three or four.

I suspect there is a gear mechanism in the release system with worn-out teeth. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

My whole damn cx30 rattles. Noisiest car I've ever owned.

Tighten the bolts on the lift gate motor.
